Cracked windshield

We have G37 of only 3 weeks old and this morning my wife came home with a 12" crack in the windshield. Nothing hit the windshield she had only parked it outside and it was nice sunny day. So my question, has anyone heard of windsheilds just cracking without anything hitting it? This seems very odd and should be warranty issue with dealer. When I called today they made it sound like it was my fault and asked that I bring it in. Thx

Welcome to NICO! Sorry to hear about your windshield.

I've never heard of a windshield just cracking...I'm sure something hit it, with or without your wife's knowledge. You will most likely need to fix it with insurance.

I found a TSB from infiniti which I took with me to the dealer. It had a picture of the same crack and location plus information of impact identification which the service folks use. To me it raised enough question that I could argue that it was not caused by impact. Long story short, the dealer agreed to replace the windshield.
