cracked windshield!!

I just noticed today crack on my windshield about 10 cm long on bottom drivers side. DAMN U truckers!! On my way to work on a highway i heard a stone hit my car but i thought it was somewhere underneath it or something.i was following the truck when it happened ...never more tho'.I guess i'll have to replace the windshield sometime soon before crack gets bigger. Has anyone have to replace a windshiled in versa?how much it might cost?any help is appreciated.thnx.

Don't you have glass coverage in Ontario? Here in BC we pay $300 deductible to get our windshield replaced.

Yeah. I was on the freeway and a rock flew up and made a pretty big crack in mine too. Insurance covered the replacement windshield though. I think, THINK, it would've been around $300-400.

On our insurance's comprehensive the last few years it's been $50 for a repair smaller than a quarter and $100 to replace the windshield. I don't carry collision on our older cars, but always keep up the comprehensive.

Be sure to use a reputable shop. THe adhesive used should take some tiem ot cure. The companies that slap a new windshield in 20 minutes and let you drive off, probably aren't doing it correctly. Having hte windshield mounted properly is important because the driver and passenger front airbags press against the windshield to control their deployment. IF the windshield is not replaced properly, the airboag will blow push out the windshield and you will not be protected properly.

I remember watching a segment about this on 60 minutes or some other news program.
