I recently made a 600 mile round trip and the morning of the drive back I noticed one tire was 4-5 psi low, I refilled it and hit the road without any pressure loss all the way home. Took it to my tire shop Monday and they couldn't find anything wrong at the time. I drove it very lightly the next few days but by Thursday the tire hit 22 psi so I took it back in. They called me in about a half hour with the result of a cracked and not repairable wheel. Apparently they called the local Infiniti dealer and the out the door quote was $1,463. I hit ebay and found a refinished wheel for $425 and a vendor that would ship same day.

What are your thoughts, do you think this is repairable? The ebay shop gave me a return label if it can't be fixed, but I'd fix this one if it meant I could have a spare handy.

Otherwise, car has 112k and is mechanically great. I did a full detail on it recently and am trying to figure out if it's worth it to respray the front bumper and side skirts due to rock chips. The car doesn't have wheel skirts so the rear lower door panels are pretty rough.

New wheel - pretty close match except the hyper silver has dulled over the years.

I would be more encouraged to replace it. It might take a very skilled (costly?) craftsperson to repair it especially since it affects the bead.
Then in the future, will it balance properly? I'd keep the cracked wheel as a memento at best, emergency spare at worst.

I know you're now considering how much more to spend refreshing the car. If you like gunmetal, you can buy a brand new set from Infiniti pretty reasonably and even recoup your money when you sell the silver ones.

... or even buy other make such as GTR or aftermarket wheels which could be cheaper. However, on a Dollar for Dollar basis, OEM wheels will be more durable.

Not repairable for safety reasons. Just have all four refinished. Cost about $400.00. Then they will all be the same and fresh.

A say rare wheel CAN be fixed by a good heliarc shop but the cost will be up there. Balancing one is not an issue at all. The biggest issue is that if the area is not gouged out deep enough to make a full depth penetration weld then it may well crack again as soon as it hits the stress of a tire changing machine.

The norm is replacement in 99% of the cases.

Not repairable.
Crack that passed the bead seat cannot be welded for safety reasons
