i was drivin down azusa and the i look at my temp gauge and itsall the way to the H !!! and next thing i know steam is spewing out of the hood and a good squirt of coolant squirts onto my windshield... so of course i say oh sh[t and pull over... so i pop my hood and my top radiator hose is disconnected and i have almost no coolant... so i go to a liquor store and buy some crown royal and 2 liters of DASANI to to put into the radiator to hold me till i get to the local parts store... so i put the DASANI into the radiator and the crown royal in the glove box and start the car... then in like a minute, psssss a huge load of steam spews out of the radiator and i go look, CRACKED RADIATOR!!! so instead of using a free tow, i drove about a quarter mile to the parts place and bought some JB weld and coolant... with cars passing about a foot away from me i applied the JB weld to the crack , let it sit for about 20 minutes on the hot radiator put some coolant and to keep pressure off the crack i tightend the radiator cap to half way... then drove 8 miles back home... now instead of finishing my body work im gunna pay $140 for the new radiator and hoses ( gunna do it myself, of course)... luckily no head gasket damage!!! so far

Plastic radiators suck, get a Mishimoto. All aluminum and double the thickness.

$180, throw in another $50-$60 and grab some silicone rad hoses too.

I gotta say no to Mishimoto right now. I have been trying to get them to replace my radiator for months. They welded the overflow bung on the wrong side of the neck and they have been dragging out the replacement process.

Did you buy it directly from them or a distributor? If a distributor/race shop it should be on them to make it right.

Sounds like you got an S14 rad instead of the S13 one. They didn't weld anything on wrong they are just sutpid and sent you the wrong one.

Its is a S14 radiator because i have S14 tension rod brackets and a S15 core. The fitment isn't the issue, but the little bung for the over flow line was welded on the wrong side.

I have been in contact with them its at the final stages of being replaced but I had to go to their dealer, who had to send the owner of the company pics.

No I didn't mean it for fitment issues, the S13 has the overflow on the passenger side of the car and the S14 has the overflow tank on the drivers side meaning that the bungs are on opposite sides for each car respectively. The fitment on the S13 and S14 is the same (i think) the difference is where the bung is located.

X2, I bought mine using the live.com rewards and got an even larger discount with it... Gotta love the bulletproof build and twice as much capacity compared to the OEM one.Don't drive too far, it will leak again.....

i was driving to school one mourning and im in downtown and all of a sudden white smoke is coming out of the hood. so i pull over and notice i have a pin hole in my heater hose (on sr's its between firewall and motor) so it cost me 150$ to tow it back home and 5$ for new hose
