Cracked oil pan 1995 Q45 Need new or used replacement part(s)

My Infiniti Q45 seems to have been built from a mix of 1994 and 1995 parts.

Need a new oil pan and perhaps a few related parts. Any clues where to find the parts or order them from?

I tried searching the forum but the words oil, pan, and Q45 might be too short (only 3 letters each) for the search software

Probably hurt the undercarriage multiple times on the many potholes in New Orleans. So perhaps this was inevitable. I do not remember any bad bumps in the road recently though.

Started dripping oil yesterday. On the weekend very few places were open, so I took it to a Firestone place that would at least look at it before closing. Only a guess that I had lost 4-8 oz of oil overnight. No idea of lost oil while driving to the shop. They told me car was not drive-able now and I would need a tow truck to take it anywhere else.

Estimate for repair is only partial as they could not locate the part(s) and the local dealer service department was closed. Cost for labor plus oil change was over 1000.00 with a 6-7 hour labor estimate for the work, per their service guide. In the past I found the New Orleans Infiniti dealer not to be helpful for parts given the age of my car and their desire to sell me a new car. Perhaps Infiniti as a company does not support these older cars as a policy. I doubt the dealer costs for repair would be any less. I will contact my local mechanic Monday am when the shop opens.

Since all VH45DE short blox were the same from 90-96, I have to believe that the oil pan are identical.
the part number you want is: 11110-60U10
I would suggest a bone yard, you'll need to have the used pan hot tanked before install.
Another way to remove the pan is by first removing the subframe while the engine is supported by a three-point truss. imho that should be way less than 6-7 hours for a competent shop. if you go that route, consider changing your motor mounts at the same time (only new, not used, but good luck finding them). fresh rubber down there will make your around town driving experience more enjoyable....

That's a good idea.

Firestone is just about one stop short of a ripoff joint - Their rates are ridiculously high, and the quality of their work tends to be iffy.

Even if you have to pay a tow truck to have it moved to your mechanic, you might easily end up saving money in the long run - and have the piece of mind of knowing that the job was done right.

Any chance of pulling the pan yourself, cleaning it thoroughly, and then coating it with 2-part epoxy to seal it?

It might keep you on the road until you can locate a replacement pan.

Thx for the fast replies. Greatly appreciated. :)
Just called my mechanic. He confirmed that doing this will be a big job, costly, likely multi-day (to get parts) and a pain.... I will try calling the parts place in Scottsdale, AZ later today (? InfinitiParts USA ?). My mechanic does not think the dealer will carry this part and is not sure what is available on the used market, especially as this Q45 was never common and the model is over 20 years old now.
I will print out and pass your thoughts to him. He will call his towing guy. Agree that it is best to use the mechanic that knows the car.
I have no means of doing any of this on my own. I did ponder if the pan could be repaired by welding - without starting an oil fire - and adding some other plate below the pan for additional protection - even if a bit of a Rube Goldberg...LOL

www.car-part.com shows a handful available. Could be phantom inventory, but that would be my starting point for used.

Guy there said they only sell new parts and the oil pan for my 1995 Infiniti Q45 is not made anymore. He had no further suggestions.

My mechanic will start making calls. Anyone on the Forum have any thoughts?

Infiniti has abandoned most of their 90s vehicles in the US. Nissan/infiniti still makes most or all of the parts that are "discontinued" in the US. These parts arent actually discontinued they just dont ship them to the US because it's not cost effective or profitable. You just need to source it straight out of Japan. Shipping is a touch expensive on bulky parts
I have used this site below for my parts for the past 10 years.

Hello Folks:

The very small hole in the front of the engine oil pan for my 1995 Q45 has been JB Welded twice. Still dripping a very small amount again recently. About a 2 x 3 foot stain on the ground underneath. Took it back to the mechanic who did the JB Welds that have held up for about 9 months. Looks like it is time for an oil pan replacement. I am thankful for the 9 months this has bought me. Again told that the pan is too thin to try a real weld or to weld a small plate onto the engine oil pan.
.
The shop will begin looking for the part. The new owner (son of the former owner) is concerned that the part might only be available via buying a full engine. They said it might take a few days to find the part. Appreciate the links provided above:

Also thank you for the motor mount comments. Are these generic or vehicle model specific, etc?
I will print and provide these very helpful comments if needed.

If you can pull it yourself from a pick and pull. I would trust anyone removing and shipping it to you. They just dont handle with care in those yards. Plus it could more than likely have been damaged when picked up by the loader. Discontinued in the states.

Says it's part of a "special sale" 490$

The motor mounts are specific to the G50 chassis, but I believe they are all the same 90-96. Probably Japan only at this point, though.

I found 2 small repair shops willing to replace the cracked oil pan. About $800+ for labor.
Now the issue is that they cannot find the oil pan (?90-96) for my 1995 Q45 without buying a whole engine.

A few weeks ago these folks listed the new part for about $600. They do not provide a phone number, so no means to contact anyone to confirm. Now the website says out of stock.

Just web mailed folks via:
https://www.car-part.com
brothersauto.com
Also just found:
https://www.hollanderparts.com/used-aut ... -get-parts
Some repeats from car-part.com.
Nothing listed on ebay. Google search was a waste of time. Not sure how to perform a nationwide search on craigslist.
Thx regarding:
https://nissan.epc-data.com/infiniti_q4 ... 110/11110/
https://www.amayama.com/en/part/nissan/1111060u10
Japan 508.53 37.83 Oct 11 - Nov 12
So 2-3+ months for shipping from Japan. I don't think I can wait that long.

If anyone knows of any other sources for the part, great.
Otherwise, I will likely buy an off lease 2017 ES350 or G80 vs an NX200t/NX300 SUV.
Hate for the Q45 to end up in the junk yard :((

The S. Cobb location of T3 in Atlanta used to have a stash of parts and parts cars. They've probably cleared them out by now, but it might be worth a call to see.
