Cracked head?

I've been having problems with my engine later and need some advice. My temperature gauge has been spiking, then going back to normal within minutes.My coolant had air in it, as there was air bubbles coming out the last time that it spiked. My car runs rough on start up sometimes, as it seems it is not getting enough gas.I took it to a shop and the mechanic diagnosed that i had probably had a cracked head, but he wasn't able to tell..

Is this my problem?

Bleed your coolant system. Search if you dont know how. You can look them up in the factory service manual in the EC section. Check my sig for the link. that ***** *** mechanic for saying your head is cracked but not being able to tell you why. IE if the water jacket is cracked you should be leaking coolant directly out of the head, have lots of sweet smelling smoke coming out of the exhaust, and/or oil that looks like chocolate milk. The rough start idle can be caused by several things. Check your timing, idle, all the vacuum hoses on the intake manifold. Check that the EGR valve isn't stuck. Check your fuel pressure if these don't do it.
