hey guys i know its not a 240 but the altima forum doesn't seem to be active

2001 altima 180 km , my dad was driving it heard a weird noise but he was running late to work so he didn't stop, he calls me after he gets off work to check it out , the idler pulley for the accessory belt snapped off , so we got the car home , the car obviously was overheating crazy

i installed the new idler pulley hoping no other damage was done , but the car started to over heat , the radiator cab had bubbles coming out and when it gets worm it would start to shoot out.

checked the compression it was all good 150 all cylinders

so i assumed it was a head gasket and went out 2 day job and changed the head gasket .

guess what didn't fix the problem , when the car started , it was all normal and after 2 min it over heated , i opened the radiator cap and steam shot out like no tomorrow , so i turned the car off let it cool down , when i turn the car on with out the radiator cap on .. it just shoots out steam and coolant , but it doesn't over heat , as soon as the cap goes on it over heats ,

i checked the compression again its still good , no sign of coolant in the oil , and no white smoke in the exhaust ......

guys help me please what is the issue?

Well, if it's a cracked head, you wold get symptoms like over heating and the steam out the cap stuff. Even after the car is off it takes a while to compression check the car, so the head (and crack) might shrink up a bit and close the gap and give you an OK reading for compression.

I haven't delt with a lot of failed eingeins, so I'm just guessing. I do know that if you have the head planed to flatten any warps, have the cam journals re-centerboared to ensure they won't break the cams from flexing.

so i found an engine in good condition decent millage for 300$ ... the guy says to come take it out , I'm just wondering guys how hard is this going to be because i saw somewhere that its hard to pull the engine from the top , can anyone explain to me why

also aside from disconnecting both drive shafts , disconnection wiring and fuel lines and engine mounts , is there any more work to be done , I'm going to be doing this three times because i have to take his out and mine than install in mine

any special tools i need i have almost everything just need to get a hold of the sockets to take out the drive shaft bolts i think they are like 32 or 34 mm

thanks guys
