So I hear a ticking noise coming from the front end of the truck when I do cold start. It get louder if I accelerate but stop after a liitle time.I did some research and find out that older path than mine, wd21, have a broplem of crack manifold.I am maybe experiencing the same thing. My questions is : what about these studs that apparently break ? andthat you need 300ZX studs to replace? Is this a big job ? Can I do this on my own with week-end mechanics or should I go to real shop and pay the price ? How much can that cost ?If someone can explain to me in detail the subject because I don't think I quite understand.

Thanks guys

I wouldn't automatically assume that's it a cracked manifold.Ticking sounds on a cold engine could be many things. A sticky valve or tappet come to mind, among other things. You may want to try an engine flush for starters, just to give it a good cleaning. How many miles on the truck by the way?Has the timing belt been replaced?

There is 161 500 mile on the odometer. And the timing belt has been change at 99 500.When you talk about engine flush for starters what are you refering to.?If it is a crack manifold, is this urgent that I fix it right away ?
