gonna combine posts so i dont spam hehe.
First off, currently i have a set of the 16" SE wheels on my '95 240. I was originally planning to buy a 2nd set for drifting, but was trying to find some 15"s since the tires are cheaper. Does anyone know if there is any kind of 15" wheel that will clear 300zx calipers? The cheaper the better, if steelies will clear please tell me! also i have tein he's and have heard people talk about trouble clearing coilovers, i dont know too much about wheel fitment really.
(ps. toyota bolt pattern dosent work on nissan, correct? the only one shared with nissan is ford, i think?)
secondly, I was going to buy some azenis 205s for my 16" wheels for autox and dry weather driving, but i am trying to figure out if it would be beneficial for grip to get wider wheels, or maybe just a wider tire on the same wheel? so far what ive read about tires and contact patches is that a wider tire does nothing to increase grip, only compound and tread pattern does? the only reason to get a wider tire would be for roadraces where you need the tire to heat up slower because there is more material, is this right?
