I think they did put my license plate bracket on crooked but I think it straightened out when I put the plate on? I need to look again.
OK as far as these great $20 walmart fog lights go, I was not impressed with the kit. BUT I really liked the lights and how they fit the car, besides no one sees the kit ecept the part that sticks out the front. BE Warned my kit didn't come with all of the wires so I had to build some and buy some ends and connectors, no big deal but if you buy this kit you will need to lengthen the wire that goes from light to light it is not long enough or build a new one. (must be for a smart car?) This wire kit is really simple and I think anyone could install it? I used a wire splice and tapped the power wire into the head light's power using the blue headlight wire(green if you want them on with brights) but my fog lights will only come on using regular beams, they turn on/off with the lights (if the switch is on)and always off when the brights are used. for other wiring help look here

I used a dremel to cut the holes, you just need something that can cut as clean and precise as possible. I think one of those roto-zip things would be great . A razor blade is not enough.
I am just going to go into a couple of things about these particular lights and how I did the interior switch. Clipsd already wrote up all the dirty work ...
zerothread/226580 Thanks to Clipsd and his tutorial totally helped, especially when it comes to putting the wires through the firwall.
ok here's the spanish side of the box but the english side should look the same??
base unaltered.
base in process of being altered to fit on the side flushly (the side is flat where-as the top is rounded). I cut it with the dremel using a cutting wheel (shown in the picture) the right side in the picture is already cut, the left is partially cut to give an idea how much to cut off.
after cutting the hole. I mounted it to the side using a strip of double-sided sticky tape just to make sure it all lined up with the cover on.
Once I had the depth where I wanted it I screwed it in to the side with one of the screws provided in the kit. I predrilled the hole with a drill bit that was slightly smaller than the screw , I also drilled it at an angle so I could get the screw tightened after the light was mounted to the base. I only used one in the middle so I could tilt the base and put the bolt that holds the light to the base in place through the botttom(as shown in the pic below).
Then I put the light on the base, the arrow shows the screw.
This is what my hole looked like when I was done cutting it out. I used an angled drill bit (atleast thats what I call it?? don't know what it really is, it was on my dremel box) to cut the hole and a little rough sanding wheel to smooth out the last part and try to get it as perfect as I could. As you can see there is about half-a-dot of the last row of "dots" left in the circle, this is a tricky thing to get perfect so take your time!!! keep test fitting a lose light as you go, there just needs to be barely enough space for the light to get out and can be done leaving little or no gap if done carefully.
I didn't use the switch that came with the kit, the one I used has a threaded back (like a small plastic bolt) that you can probably get at any parts store.
OK how to get that pesky switch blank out of your dash! I tried the ole pop it out the front like I used to do on older cars... DON'T DO THAT, it won't work and you just leave marks . Ok in the pictures below I tried to show how the switch blank is built and what the tabs that hold it in look like. There is a tab on the top and bottom of the blank. the top tab goes UP and the bottom tab goes DOWN when removing the blank. I couldn't see that so I took the whole damn thing apart, which was a *****, hopefully I have spared you agony of having to do that.
Top/bottom of the blank. Arrow points to little "nub" that the tabs hold on to.The tabs that hold the blank at the top/bottom
This is what the blank looks like from the back. I drilled right down the center of the front to put the switch in..... be careful!!
Here is the finished switch after I put it in the blank
There is a little removable panel on the side of the dash that is VERY helpful for getting the blank out and in.
