I was wondering if anyone had come up with a way to cover up the screen and panel on the technology package temporarily that looks decent?

I wish the screen would flip under. If I happen to be at a concert, leaving my car at the airport, etc., I feel like it screams "just steal me!". I was trying to figure out a way to cover it up if I need to.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!

First time I've heard of this question. A lot of cars on the road now have Nav units on the dash. Not many of them are a hideaway type. What I mean to say is that it is so common that your car would have to have something specific for someone to break into it. You could always get your windows tinted.

Whose to say that if you make something to cover it up that it wont look inconspicuous.

Maybe print out a picture of an old car stereo on a thick piece of paper and use it to cover up your nav when needed...

Yes because somebody would install that in a 2008 vehicle.

Now there's an idea.... Thanks, ctrlaltcoupe for the idea, it's great. But I think I'm going to look for a different picture. :-)

shift_coupe - Good point about the commonality of the systems. I guess my concern is that the Coupe is still so new, it attracts more attention. I've only seen ONE other on the road, and I drive about 50 miles a day.

Hubby has access to a metal shop. I might have him try to make a black box that I can sit right over it. Might help at night!

How about adding a motion detector to the present system http://www.autotechs.com/items/item1073.htm take a look, they are not costly.
