Courtesy Vehicle?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Does anyone know if the dealer will arrange a courtesy vehicle, even for a small service i.e. oil change? I've taken my EX in twice for service at my local dealer, once for fuel pump replacement + oil change, another for an oil change only, and they've refused to give me a courtesy vehicle both times. Even when I've requested it prior. Even the tech driving the shuttle asked why didn't I ask for a courtesy car.

Perhaps they had none available? How far in advance did you call to make the appointment?

I've had my car in to the dealers 5 times now over the past year, for both simple oil changes and more complex work like the last trip where they replaced tires, fuel pump (again) and the steering rack. Each time I have been offered a courtesy vehicle. I normally call 3 or 4 days in advance, and they ask me if I would like a loaner. Twice I've had an EX and 3 times a G.

Both times I called couple days ahead and they said I can just request it when I have my service. And both times I had my service in the morning (1/2 hour after they open) so I am pretty sure they have a courtesy car at the back. The service manager said it depends on the type of service when considering giving a courtesy car. He said oil changes doesn't qualify for it.

I've decided to switch and call another dealership today to arrange service and the service guy automatically ask if I need a courtesy car. The problem is they're 20km away compares to 5km but I'll see how their service is and may switch to them for good.

My dealer gave me a loaner when I had my fuel pump replaced, but not for just an oil change. I think each dealer has their own rules.

Same here. Oil change = no loaner. Although, I never asked. But, if

something major like fuel pump, they normally ask me if I need a loaner.

On Infiniti's website, if you click on Ownership and then "Service Loan Car", it says "complimentary Service Loan Car whenever your Infiniti is in for warranty repair". It also says "only during the 4-year/60,000-mile Basic coverage". I'm guessing that Infiniti requires that dealers do it for warranty work, but some dealers are nicer and do it for little things like oil changes too.

My dealer gives me one whenevr I visit. If its just an oil change, then I usually wait, but they always offer one up anyway. But they do not have to give one. It is different from dealer to dealer.

How much does your dealer charge for loaner? I pay about $15 for gas.

My dealer provides a loaner if the wait time (for the work being done on my car) is going to be more than about 90 minutes. If the wait time is less than that, they ask if I wouldn't mind waiting. More than that, they automatically offer a loaner.

FWIW, they don't charge anything for the loaner but request that I bring it back with the same amount of gas in the tank as when I received it.

I have had my dealership give me a loaner for an oil change that I scheduled the day before. I also don't have to pay anything.

I also service my car at Markham Infiniti and have received a loaner in the past for warranty repairs...I find that it is hit and miss...and you have to insist on getting a loaner if you really need it...but sometimes you may have to wait 1-2 weeks later if you absolutely need a loaner...if tithelps, I usually deal with John (service manager).

Loaners for services that call for me then 1 hour book time while the vehicle is under warranty. Beyond that I assume they can "good faith" one to you based off your dealings with them.

I've had mine in for an oil change...and I've waited.

For the Fuel pump and for the 7,500 mile service they gave me a loaner.

Love having a new G37X for the day.

I agree it's such a treat to have a loaner. In fact I look forward to my service because I never know what loaner they're going to give me. The G37X is sooo much fun to drive, although I don't think I would ever buy it.

Googleman, my dealership is also the same place I birng my EX for service and they charge me $10 for the loaner car (which they offer at all times, no matter what the service) but for that charge I do not have to worry about gas. I simply bring the loaner back and they give me my car all serviced and washed. I drop my car off in the morning before work, drive the loaner to work, out to lunch and then pick up my car on my way home.

I have always gotten an Infiniti loaner for service being done under warranty, and as long as I asked for one when I schedule my appointment. I know sometimes they would run out of "loaner" cars, but if I had one arranged when I scheduled, then it was all good.

In my knowledge, they would only offer a courtesy car when the repair takes more than a day, they consider overnight repair if labor hour is more than 6. only if the service is being done under the warranty.

I think your dealer is totally BSing you. That's BS .. BS .. BS. ..

During my fuel pump replacement recall, I got a loaner car.

During my automatic steering wheel replacement recall, I got a loaner car.

My dealer is A1 and top-notch. You need a courtesy loaner.

Both of the Infiniti dealers I have had service done with have offered me service vehicles for even as short as 4 hours. As long as I requested one in advance, I had a loaner.

i live in dallas and always go to sewell. they are really good about service and always having a loaner. even for an oil change if you schedule it. a girl i work with however said she took her g37coupe there and they didn't have any loaners, even though she made an appt. they did shuttle her to work but then she had to go back the next am to pick her's up.

i dropped mine off for an oil change, recall about the steering wheel and also the fuel pump. i went to pick it up at the end of the day and the service guy offered to have it delivered to my office the next day. they let me keep the loaner overnight and then just picked it up when they brought mine out.

so she and i had different experiences. not sure if it depends on the service guy i work with, but his name is james saliva if anyone in dallas needs a good one.

A simple Oil Change gets me an Infiniti Loaner Car.

All I do is replace the Gas that I use.

It's only been to the Dealer twice and I got a G35 basic plain Jane to drive around in, each time.

It was nice to get back into my EX after driving that thing.
