Im wondering what would be a good upgrade injector for a CA. My current setup is a rebuilt CA18DET,Full ARP hardware, port and polished head, fmic, turbo back exhaust and sr t25 on 8psi. i want to upgrade the injectors and ive heard alot about running 2 exhaust cams but cant find any real info.ide also like to know whats the most power the stock maf will hold. i have a AFC NEO ima use but kinda wanna see what else i could do before i go that route. thanks in advance

If you're going to be using an AFC, I wouldn't exceed a 50lb/hr injector. So max. is 550cc and not another cc more. The stock afm can support 300+hp and as far as the two exhaust cams are concerned, you should do as much research as possible. If you really wanted to add performance, you'll need to look past a T25 turbocharger. If you upgrade injectors and up the boost, you will still be limited by the turbocharger and the tune within the stock ROM.

As Dee said, no bigger than 550's with a piggyback. The tried and true route is a rom tune for 550's, Z32, and T28 + AFC for fine tuning your setup (no of-the-shelf rom tune is perfect). This will make for a very fun, yet reliable car.

As it happens, I have a set of 550's I'm gonna have to let go of as my conversion to E85 makes them too small for my goals. They're actual NISMO units, and have about 40K miles on them. PM or email me if your interested.

I'm assuming you mean a Z32 MAF. What kind of HP numbers would you expect with that setup you described, T28 and all, and adding in the fact that I have forged pistons?

I'm tempted to get those injectors off you...

Yea, Z32 MAFS. If you're running a ROM tune + SAFC and a good dyno tune, you should be able to be around 275RWHP. If you want them LMK asap, as I just ordered 1200cc injectors from Deatschwerks and as soon as them come in, I'm putting the 550's up in the Classifieds.

That set-up will yield in the ballpark of (poorly tuned) 220ish whp) and (properly tuned) 270ishwhp. The main focus will be on the tuning, not forgetting the fact that your supporting cast is limited as well.

If you're referring to what I use, it's called "SDS" and it is a standalone engine management system. It's the same one float uses.

I'm using a nistune type 1 board for my ca18det, plenty of people in the UK use it with great results, after speaking to my tuner he explained nistune will be more than sufficient for my power goal (around 300bhp), there's no need to go full stand alone unless your actually going to use all of its potential, iv found the stock ecu with nistune board and a good tuning session will give great results and reliability. It's cheap also, paid £120 for the complete ecu and nistune already fitted, it was 2nd hand and the guy was running 480whp with a eBay t70 on a stock block! Nistune is great, well worth the money!

Are new pistons required to put out good numbers( like 265-270) if im running a rom tune with 444cc injectors, a z32 maf, and a gt28 turbo? I know the stock internals are forged but will i have the engine apart would it be best to just put in new pistons, or would it be over kill for the setup im running? Im a 17 year old kid so i dont have a very large budget.

Stock pistons are cast. Rods and crank are forged, regardless, stock pistons are fine for that power level, no need to spend the money on forged pistons.

i just had my CA rebuilt, stock internals, arp headbolts, S15t28, 560cc's, FMIC, Z32maf, and its currently running pretty at 250hp (could have gone high but clutch slip started happening around 260 :tisk: )...and im quite happy and it just sound reliable...i dunno how far you went with ur rebuild, but i went complete with new oem oil pump, water pump, tension/idle pulleys...and running on NIStune...i had it dyno'ed since i no nothing on tuning, like i said, it runs cherry except for my IACV needing some cleaning lol
