Hey all, first posti want to swap a n/a rwd sr20de into my ae86 track car

i can get a full s14 rwd n/a setup for 1500 shipped at one source, anyone know of any other??

I already have a box made for my blacktop 20v setup

I want to eventually put a sr20ve into it..

can i put my rwd n/a mounts onto the motor and bolt up the flywheel, clutch and transmission, essentailly making the ve RWD??

also can i use my de intake manifold on the ve to keep it rwd??

thanks for any help

You cannot turn a FWD SR around and make it RWD, the external designs of the engines are different. You *might* be able to swap a VE head onto a RWD DE, but I've never seen it done.

ah ok.

dont the ve's have higher compression than the n/a de's?

ports on the intake should be the same also? so i could maybe get away with putting a rwd intake manifold on the fwd head to reconfigure it?

thanks again

Yes, VE's have higher compression, more camshafts (edit - lobes, I'm an idiot), and some other differences.

No, you can't just put a RWD intake mani on and turn it around. The outsides of the blocks themselves are different. The only plausible option would be to put a VE head on a RWD DE, and I don't know if that's possible either, it's just a guess.

i read up a little more, it is very possible to do for sure..

just lower compression ratio, but if i used a de block and cramd some ve internals and ve head i might be able to make it work

also ports on the ve are slightly larger than de so porting on the intake mani is a must..
