ok...well here is the thing folks. my neighbor installed a hi-power exhaust muffler with a straight pipe, and removed the resonator. so pretty much like an axle-back, not no full cat. so i was wondering, would this be possible on our rides? since we have no resonator to begin with ok, great, get a straight pipe, and hi-power mufflers from hks. pretty sure there will be fitment problems but cant that be adjusted to make it fit?

some i had in mind.

Looking at that price and design. You should wait for GReddy Ti-C to come out. Its a full cat back, designed for the 3.5

It should be available in 1-2 months if you can wait.

so it is possible? well about 280 X 2 (per each muffler) = 560? with some piping shouldnt cost more than 600./700. isnt the greddy's gonna be around 1k?

either way, if you like it go for it i guess?

well i dont think the look/style of the muffler is ricer at all, just my opinion. I think i might end up with this, it'll sound better than w/e is out there as of rite now.

only way i'll get the greddy is if its around the same price as this hks setup. I know greddy will have the whole catback, but if its more than this, then i will not go for it.

anyone else's thoughts on applying the hks hi-power mufflers on our coupes?

my personal opinion is that those types of mufflers are sorta ricey and for the price you can get something better. i'm going for universal magnaflow mufflers that will cost around $250 for both of them and i already have the 2.5" cat-back (cost just $100 at a local muffler shop). so about $350 or maybe $400 with labor and everything for a catback exhaust that in my opinion will sound way better sounds good. everything i've heard magnaflow on sounded amazing. anything from 1.5L civics to 350Z to V8 Mustangs. but in the end, it's going to be your muffler so choose what you like best

i dont get how this style muffler is ricer at all? i mean i see so many people get greddy's and hks products, and all the greddy and hks mufflers look like the n1 style.

imo the 60mm don't look ricey. The bigger the size, they seem more ricey.

Do you know how much the HKS setup would cost? Including everything and if labor.

When I was at GReddy, one of the R&D representative said it would cost a good 1k for the full system. But I am not sure if thats MSRP. Possibly get it cheaper from a authorized GReddy dealer. You can probably email or call to find the price as it should be coming soon to the U.S.

well my neighbor got it all done at a local shop for 850 with straight piping, 2 hks mufflers, and installation.

Its real easy to make any exhaust sound good on a boxer engine

The muffler tip alone is almost 5 inches in diameter. The shell is almost 7 inches in diameter. I really don't even think there is enough room between the rear cross member and the bumper opening. I would do some serious measuring if i were you. Play into the puzzle the bending of the piping and hangar placement. If you are planning on running 2 of these mufflers you are going to have to run dual pipes from the cat back to even give the exhaust room to breathe. Even if you get all the piping bent and welded. The mufflers are going to hang wayyyy below the bump and its going to look on the ricey side. However being an entrepreneur will help everyone else out.

If you are at the local gas station pumping gas and you here an obnoxiously loud fart box, 9 times out of 10 when i turn around, its some 1997 dx honda civic with some spanish fellows riding in it, with chinese writing and a mismatch colored spoiler that is like 3 feet tall.

The 1 out of 10 cars that sound like that are just an old broken down POS that is MISSING its muffler
