couple questions on a 02

Hi,just picked up an 02 2.5s real clean overall,(108k) and have a few questions,figured I would try here since you all drive them.First off I bought it needing an engine(overheated beyond repair) I did that on saturday along with a new rad and everything is great.I heard that there may be a problem with the cat that causes the over heating on the 2.5?is a there a place to check recalls online? also has anyone had a problem with rust on the floor around the drivers seat area?I have a small section about 1 foot by 1 foot with some heavy rust that I will need to weld a patch into,every thing else is still perfect.I was wondering if maybe the sunroof drain is he problem?And lastly the steering column moves slightly side to side is this normal for these?Thanks for your help
