1995 240sx ka24de 5 speed - new cap and rotor, wires, plugswell ima start off with the egi fuse...i know it has somethin to do with the fuel pump i think...but what exactly does it do? im talking about the little 7.5 brown fuse in the fuse box on the passenger side fender under the hood (labeled "EGI" on the fuse box cover). i noticed it was blown, so i replaced it. i turn the car on, it starts fine but when i turn the key off the car wont turn off. when i pulled the fuse back off, the car turns on and off likes it supposed to. never heard of fixing a fuse and making the problem worse, some wierd stuff right there.second question - i have been having some hell with this damn mafs. says i need additional ground, i run an additional ground straight from the ground wire to the frame - nothing. so i run a ground from the negative terminal to the frame - nothing. pulled ecu out and see no sign of burned wires. so for the moment i read the how to on adjusting the screw on the iaa, great write up by the way. so i got a pretty good idle now, its high, about 1k with the a/c off ( i do plan on lowering some though)...but at least i know the car will not cut off on me anymore. still has minor shaking when idle. so my question is *finally* - where could there be another ground for the mafs or where are all the grounds located on the car? maybe the guy who did the motor swap missed a ground. and the tps must be good cuz it runs with the mafs disconnected, and the mafs must be good cuz it runs with the tps connected. (from what i read, car cant run with both not working). i did spray some carb cleaner inside the intake hose running to the throttle body to clean the iacv...gonna go try it again, so it will hopefully clean it. please help!!!
