Hi all,

On my 2016 Altima 2.5 S I notice at freeway speeds the steering is a little too sensitive. Seems like I have to make lots of small corrections. Is this normal with this electric power steering? also I notice that if I am sitting in the car for a while with it in ACC mode, the interior lights will not work after a bit. The stereo is still working just no interior lights until I open a door or push the ignition switch to OFF then ACC again. I know the car has the battery shut off feature but that warns you on the dash that it is going to shut off.

On another note, I am really liking the mileage of this thing. On my first fill up I have gone 300 miles & it says I have another 220 mile to go. It says I am averaging 30MPG. That's amazing since I am not a easy driver. Thanks.

Welcome to NICO Club!

I don't have the same car, so I don't know the typical feel with the steering. Maybe it's an wheel alignment or balance issue?

Also, not sure, but I think with the key on accessory, most of your stuff should stay on. That fact that it doesn't and in the same consistent manner, makes me think it could be due to design. Headlights are often on a separate Accessory power loop than the other accessory items like stereo and AC. Perhaps your interior lights are part of that accessory power loop. You could try to figure that out using wire diagrams from the Service Manual. We have those by the way, see the link near the upper right area of our screens.

Electric power steering is actually TOO easy and can easily make you think that, I had the same problem for a while. Part of it being the slight resistance standard hydro PS gives you, that is gone with electro.

You'll get used to it like I had to...............

The interior lights are likely hitting the timer chip limit set in the BCM, normal, some things get cut before battery saver kicks in.
