Couple of Questions

Ok... i have had nothing but bad luck this week... First... I start having problems with my car... It will only shift between first and second (im guessing its first and second because thats what it kind of feels like when i do feel it shift... shifts to second... then lags when it should go to third...) Also... it no longer reverses... Now the best part is i had the car parked out in the street... And a couple nights ago... somebody smashed out the back left window... I tried to get the door panel off to see if it would be easy for me to fix myself... I cant figure out how to get it off...

Oh... forgot to tell you my what kind of car i have... Its a 1992 Infiniti Q45... 170000 miles...

Can anybody help me with either of my above problems... Thanks...

Door panel- http://www.carstereohelp.com . I could write about it, but it uses pictures!!!! If it only mentions the front door, the rear door is the same, except you need to take out the rear ashtrays.... remove those by (looking at it face on), there is a lever on the right side, kinda looks like a track, push down on it, and it should flop down. Then there are 2 screws on top, unscrew those and your done!!!! If you need any more help, or dont understand, i can scan the page out of the service manual..

1992 Q starts in 2nd gear, if that clears anything up.... Dont know why it doesnt go in reverse, but it sounds like it may be time for a new transmission (dont do a local rebuild, get a factory reman)..... Try shifting through the gears yourself via the shifter, and see if that helps your "lagging" problem
