K first off i just bought a 180sx clip from a local speed shop for 2000 thought it was a pretty good price. the clip has a auto transmission but they gave me a 5 speed to swap in instead of the auto(cause everybody knows autos suck). any way i need a new clutch, flywheel, downpipe, fuel pump, and electric fan<--(is it really worth it). priced it out and its going to be 507+ shipping for that. and i was wondering cause i would like to put a few performance parts on there while im swaping. would it be better to get a bov and megan manifold. or bov fmic. what would i get the most hp out of? Also does anybody know where i can get a stock sr20 flywheel? Thanx for anybody that replys

yes...since the motor is out...mind as well it now and rite....fmic is easy to install when u have the money...stock is 7 or 8 psi, i forgot...its set at stock unless u have a boost controller...i wouldnt do more than 10psi to be safe...

while your motor is out, i would replace the front and rear oil main seals, replace the oil pan, and retorque the bolts holding the turbo to the manifold. but if you are going to replace it with a megan racing manifold or something then you are already on your way. i used EVERYTHING off of my clip that i got and i love it. even down to the gas pedal and brake booster. my car was stripped as heck when i got it so it was nice to have the clip for a back up. also you can transfer the pulley from the PS pump to your US one. you dont have to switch out the whole thing for that. i have a stock flywheel thats just collecting dust from my swap if you wanna buy it from me, make me an offer on it, i dont need it no mo.

a new clutch (OEM) and new fuel pump (aftermarket) is preferred. Walbro sells the cheapest on i've seen. Also if you dont plan on using the stock SR downpipe, then i recommend an aftermarket one. An aftermarket flywheel isnt needed but if you plan on getting a used oem sr flywheel, you should prolly get it resurfaced. Since you got the clip it should come with mostly everything you need. +1 for changing the rear & front main seal...im guessing you bought a redtop, so its better to change these now.

where are you finding all of that stuff for 507 shipped?

if you get a 3" down pipe, your car will act funny if you dont have a 2.5+" exhaust. they will work against each other otherwise. 10 psi is not recommended until your car can breathe freely (exhaust), you will want to protect that turbo. check your belts also, and water pump and oil pump replacements would be good at this time. You dont need to replace the oil pan unless its banged up, or you intend on building a serious drift car, but make sure its not leaking.

if you know anything about heads, you should take a visual of the head to make sure theres no serious scoring on your cams and nothing looks out of place. more often everything will be fine, but looking will give you piece of mind. if everything doesnt look rather new then you may want to make a mental note when you crank the car, to listen to the head.

also be prepared to make the auto ecu work with the 5 spd. and have fun cause there will be problems, but they are good learning experiences.

What problems do you run into with a SR Auto to 5spd swap... ?? that's what i'm doing....

well made my first order got a spec stage 2 clutch, megan racing manifold, and a greedy 3inch downpipe. i already have full 3inch exhaust so im good there just need to hollow out the cat that i paied 180 for . umm for the 507 number i was guess how much stuff was going to be priced at and was kinda way off. ill let you know about the flywheel im talking to a guy right now about his if that dosnt go through then all let you know. so what kinda problems will i run into with the auto ecu and the 5 speed transmission?
