Theres a little "switch" that completes a circuit to that light when you pull the ebrake up, so people don't go driving around with their brakes on. If that switch is loose then it could flicker back and forth. Just remove the center console and check it out. You should be able to tell if its loose. If it's unrepairable then just disconnect it, just remember to take the brake off before you go driving around town : )

thanks for the advice man.. but it occurd to me that it might just be low fluid in the brake reservior, or maybe just time to chenge the pads.. but ill check 'em all ;)

What year is yer car? If it's a late model SE, the E-brake means E-BRAKE. If it's fluid level or brake pads your abs light will come on. Just tryin to save you the trouble of checkin the pads.

duh i forgot.. i have a 90 hatch... not se. i also called around a bit and found that i have to sell my soul to get the head gasket replaced and all. about that brake light problem... ive heard that it could be connected with my clutch??? cuz my clutch tends to not play well. sometimes the pedal just drops or doesnt come back up... and that might be low fluid or a bad slave cylinder. any thoughts??

My ebrake light was doing the same thing on my car for a while. I couldn't figure it out. Checked the wiring and everything. Then I topped of my brake fluid. Hoozah! It hasn't come on since. I smacked my head on the counter for that one. I guess that's why they call em' dummy lights.
