Been on NICO for quite some time now. Just got an '04 maxima 3.5 SE traded in at my work and its got a few problems.

First off, the speedometer seems to be reading slow. Almost as if its in MPH instead on km/h. The ABS, Slip, VDC and red brake light are illuminated also.

Now I'm not sure if all of these are related or not, but the right rear wheel bearing is shot and the transmission has a rough up and downshift

I know the valve bodies go bad on these but I pulled no transmission codes from the computer. My theory is that the transmission might be confused since the speedo isn't working properly.

My main focus is why the speedo isn't working and the malfunction lights on the dash. I think they may somehow all be related.

If anyone has any info on these problems, let me know! Thanks!!!

Fix the wheel bearing problem first. The associated ABS wheel speed sensor could be confusing the ABS control unit, triggering those lights as well as slower speedometer, even the transmission. Don't forget to check your alternator charging voltage, >13.8 VDC (spec is 14.2 to 14.7 VDC) and steady. Crazy things do happen when the alternator is on the way out. Remote but possible, a clogged fuel filter in the tank can partially starve the engine with erratic transmission shift.
