Im gathering the parts I need for a 5 lug swap on my '91 240. What is the best way to go about putting SE ball joints in the front lower control arms? Are the front S14 spindle bolts bigger, or are the S13 bolts bigger (which has to be drilled?) Also, can I use my 4 lug bearings with the 5 lug hubs in the rear? The car has 92k. Trying to keep the total price around $350-400.

The best way to swap the ball joints is to use a ball joint press. They can be rented from any auto parts stores that rent out tools.

You'll need s14 nuts and bolts which are larger than the s13's. They holes on the lower strut mounts will need to be widened to 14mm.

I'm not sure about the bearings, but if I had to guess, I'd say yes, they'll work. It would be worlds easier to just get the 5 lug hubs with bearins already pressed though.

havent been able to find any hubs that I know have bearings on them. I checked all the NICO sponsors, found 2 places with them, and they do not come with bearings. Found some at Autozone. The guy SAID they were the whole assembly(hub, bearing, studs). But without one to look at, or at least a pic, Id say he didnt know what he was talking about for the price he quoted(around 120/piece) I thought that was real cheap for the whole assembly. All the NICO sponsors have them for 115-130 without the bearing, bearing is an extra 100. Should I try the Autozone ones???

?

I got mine from an online junkyard for $150 /pair. I suggest you give it a try. http://www.car-part.com

Remember, n/a z32 rear hubs work as well (that's what I ended up getting).
