okay so ive had my car for about two and a half months now and ive decided on and got the stillen kit, greddy exhaust, springs, tints and injen intake along with the debadged rear. I absolutely love how my car looks and I get stares and complements everyday. I really wanna say thanks to all those who posted and helped me decide, especially longbeach, dangeris and adidas who answered alot of my questions. I have alot of other pictures and ill upload the rest as soon as i have time but heres one of me and marvin, a red 3.5 coupe at the track. my good friend Matt (FGF) was also with us and youll see his in the other pics.

lol...the question to be answered.. well it was my first time and i was really nervous and this pic was actually the very first run. My best time was 14.8 but the red coupe was able to get 14.3. The most trouble i had was at the damn launch which i wasnt doing right, i launched at about 2500 but floored it right away, when i was supposed to let go of the clutch first so it took forever to get a good grip. But still, i beat every other car I raced against except marvin (red coupe) --6speed,who doesnt have the stock tires and lowered his tire pressure and has been to the track before and FGF, who has CVT. Im pretty confident though that ill have a much better time once i get the launch right.

CVT FTW lol my best time at the track was a 13.912 @ 99.759 MPH. CVT is much easier to launch but at about 90 MPH it starts to cut power

if you want a easy way to improve your time, just unbolt the exhaust lol seriously. that's how i got my 13.9. i was 100% stock and just unbolted my muffler and got a 13.912. if it was a little colder or i had an intake, i would have got a 13.8. but with performance exhaust i dunno. with my 2.5" cat-back and Magnaflow muffler i'm only .1 secs slower then no muffler at all lol taking off the muffler makes you faster, taking off the cat makes you slower (i need to put mine back back on).... oh ya and when i say taking off the muffler, i mean theres only 2 screws to unbolt and then just push the pipe to the side, at the end of the day just put the 2 screws and gasket back on and its back to stock lol

hmm i just might try that thanks alot! ill let you know how it works. So would it be the same for the greddy as far as unbolting? just unbolt in and push the cat to the side?

thats a vid of mine.... as long as you still have the flange after the cat it will be the same.

heres a vid of my 1st run without the muffler where i hit a 14.00 against my friend's SRT4

http://youtube.com/watch?v=O0P2e-uyj-Y

stick shift is a lot harder to launch but once you get it down, you'll be faster then CVT because CVT lets off the gas a little at 90 MPH. with an intake and lowered and the muffler unbolted you should be able to pull off a a 13.7 or maybe even 13.6.... stick is supposed to be like .2 sec quicker then CVT because CVT lets off at 90. with an intake i would have done a 13.8 and you have a stick so a 13.6 should be possible with muffler unbolted and practice.

OH YA! my friend got something done to his SRT4 called like "2 step launch control" or something like that. basiclly what it does is you just floor the gas and it will only allow it to rev to a certain RPM (what ever RPM you set it at) and when it's time to go just take your foot off the clutch and it launches perfect. it makes launching a stick shift as easy as launching an automatic. he said the company that made his is looking to expand to all cars and that they can have it for any stick shift car.

My man Anton, that day at the track was more than fun, we were there for atleast 5 1/2 hours. If any of you guys have atleast three friends with a coupe, go cruising together and people stare at you like your driving exotics or something. Well maybe because Anton has the full Stillen kit and the Greddy, and our man Marvin has the Stillen exhaust and some nice rims but its a lot of fun you gotta do it if you can get together. But yea, my best time was a 14.6 at 96MPH on stock tires and an Injen Intake. It was my first time, but I will get the Greddy installed before this weekend and we will go back and give it another go. I hope that Greddy will help my top end atleast a little bit so I can get a little closer to triple digits atleast until more performance mods are available. I was actually able to get some real good burnouts with the CVT and warm the tires up real good. I got some good power launches and was able to get some good take offs although I know i can do much better. All in all it was a whole lot of fun and it makes you want more performance mods BAD. Headers, ECU's, Test Pipes, High Flow Cats for our cars, some company please.Oh yea, and CVT is real good at the track. I tried manual mode twice, and got slightly better times in regular drive. Although I think that manual mode is definately, definately faster rolling, from a launch straight drive is the best way to go for a better and obviously more consistent time. Next time at the track I am going to try launching in drive, and then switching into manual mode after about five seconds and dropping back a gear and going on in manual mode for the rest of the race. This might be a complete failure, but I am willing to give it a try. Again all in all I am very excited about future performance mods. Ey Anton we have to get some more pictures up my friend.Man the track is fun

ya it's really fun, every time i went to the track i was there for hella hours and it does make you want to go faster....... but about the triple digits at the end of the track, you got an intake right? the closest you'll get to triple digits is unbolting your exhaust lol i know it sounds crazy but for reals, it only takes 5 min to take off and 5 min to put on. it's just 2 bolts. take off the 2 bolts, open the flange with a flat head screw driver and just push the cat-back to the side. on a 100% stock 3.5se CVT altima coupe i got a 13.912 @ 99.7 MPH. with that and your intake you might be able to get into the triple digits and maybe hit a 13.8 (if the weather is nice and cool). i just leave it in D, it's much faster. even from a roll i just use manual mode to get my RPMs up for the start of the race (from a roll) and then hit it back into D with my foot floored to the gas. but ya, the unbolting the exhaust does help for a stock 3.5se trying to get a good time at the track. but ill tell you now, you need an air gun to take off those bolts for the 1st time lol

thanks for all the info, i really wna try the unbolting for next time. As far as ur friends SRT, i guess i could just practice launching at the right rpm consistently then, cause my problem was that i kept following my instincts to floor it right off the bat, which gave me horrible launches lol. That day was alot of fun tho, alot of fun. But hopefully that little adjustment with the exhaust and the practice should help me out. thanks bro.

Matt, i will, just waiting on stacey to upload the pics for me. wouldve done it sooner but my internet was down, and im going to PA today till wednesday. we gotta try that unbolting thing man, but dont tell marvin hahaha. hopefully well kick his *** next time. We have to lower our tire pressures before too bro, especially since were on the stock. Tell chris to unbolt it for you when he installs the greddy.

Yea Anton if I can get the times I wont for now with the Greddy installed, then we will definately have to get Chris to unbolt our exhaust then take a ride to the track, give it a few runs then come back to Chris the same day and get the exhaust put back on. Thanks for all the hepl Hussain.

My man Marvin whats good, I see you made a NicoClub account, now we all truly do roll together. We have to get those subs out your trunk so you can get into the 13's. That was a nice day, we have to go to the track a lot more often now.

lol ya you helped me out thanks alot Dude seriously, i would really appreciate a deal on some rims/tires. No its not a lease, its paid off already, so I just have to worry bout the parts. Im really looking for something similar to the stock rims or the SE-R rims except of course bigger than the stock rims with the lower profile tires. Id reallllly appreciate a deal on those man. Ill be your FFL (friend for life)

$300??? seriously? can i see what they look like? thatd be amazing bro, you the man!

marvin, i forgot you got the subs in the back man, wonder what your time will be w/o them, thatll be sweet if you get into the 13s..

yo matt, marvin told me that the unbolting thing is illegal so yeah we would have to do it all in one day then get in put back. Might as well just try the track after you put on the greddy just to see how it is and then try again later on with the unbolt.BTW, im dropping my car off at elite today so he can do the mesh and bumper sag while im in PA.

ill post the rest of the pics when i get back. later --anton

anton... i can help you find cheap wheels you gotta sell yours on your own though...

Do you have the credit to float the aftermarket wheels? meaning if i find you a deal on them for lets say 1k delivered.. can you sit on that while you wait to get the $$ from selling the factory wheels?

ya it is illegal to unbolt it, it makes it REALLY LOUD! makes it sound like a monster lol what i did was i used an air gun to take it off and then just put it back on with a wrench. and at the track i just took the wrench and a flat head screw driver and just lift the car a little with the car jack and do it by hand (only takes about 5 min). lol i actually put the exhaust back on while i was sitting in the lanes waiting to race one time lol

Anything for some better times man, we just need some more performance mods out SOON, very soon for our cars. Anything, aside frome suspension and FI, because other than that alls we have is exhaust. Look at the G37, they have headers, down pipes, test pipes, high flow cats, grounding kits etc. I know that its an Infiniti, and aftermarket parts is a huge part of the G's, but our cars have been out around the same amount of time and all we can get is exhaust. I understand our cars might not be looked at as necessarily a sports car by a lot of companies, but there is obviously a big market out there for performance parts for our cars.
