Seriously, why do people insist on making these threads? A Coupe Vs Hatch thread gets posted by some n00b every other week. Kids these days.

Oh, and coupes pwn your Mom.

Well, according to Nissan, Texas DPS, and Carfax, it is a hatch.

Hatch-/Fastback/3 Door/Whatever-T-F:

Loves:- The looks/lines (goes better w/popups)- Storage capacity

Hates:- Extra weight- Lower body rigidity- Stock sponge-wrapped-in-plastic-magic-rust-formula-spoiler

Coupe/Notchback/2 Door/Whatever-T-F:

Loves:- Seems more natural w/S13 Silvia front end- Lighter- Stiffer

Hates:- Less storage space- Just doesn't look "quite right" w/popups

Just my take on the two. I prefer fastback > coupe, but I would rock either one w/the quickness.

Hatches are the hotness plus the rear end of the coupes seem to remind me of a second generation Integra for some odd reason

I love when people bring up the weight factor. Weight between the two is totally pointless. I drive my heavy hatch around and I weigh a good 55lbs less then the average driver.

I've always loved the hatch back over the coupe, but the more I look at coupes the more I like them.

my first impressions on the s13 is the fastbacks are sick looking.. i love em'.. but lately ive also been falling for the coupes w/ silvia front end. i have a fastback, i love it to death, but also thinking about buying a coupe as well (if i can find it for real cheap, cuz im broke).

the thing that sucks about fastback.. you wont imagine how many people mistake my car for a probe...

This is a weak "coupe vs hatch" thread. We had a killer one going a couple months ago. Even some S14 guys got in on it.

I've had both....currently enjoying the hatch. Lots of storage space...I can fold the seat and carry tons of stuff. The trunk of the coupe (bad) and convertible (worse) just aren't adequate.

Hatches with the wipers and spoilers have a problem rusting through. Without the wiper or the spoiler, there's no problem with rust.

The tail-end of the coupe just looks funny to me now. I used to not feel this way.

I prefer my hatch for drift days. Because I can fit a cooler, jack, tools, 2 pairs of tires, and 2 sets of rims and tires in my hatch.

Agreed!!

And why do hatch owners insist on calling them 'fastbacks'? Having 'fast' in the name doesnt make it any quicker.
