What is Nissan waiting to offer an SE-R version of the coupe altima?I personally think it would be great, and should have at least the 290hp of the Maxima. Also to give the Altima the edge over the Accord Coupe.I saw non official pictures of an orange SE-R coupe... has anyone seen them? how real are they?

it wouldn't happen because the majority of the coupes that are sold are the 2.5's and the cost to make another engine that is only about 20+ more HP probably wouldn't be worth the cost of building and designing that engine, on top of that nissan probably wouldn't sell as many

...? the engine is already done its in the new gen maxima lol... and I doesn't matter if most of the Altima's are 2.5S, what kind of argument is that? most sentra's are base models and they have the Se-R and even the SE-R spec V. same for the GTR , most of them are normal spec and they went and did a double priced SpecV with barelly more performance. the old altima SE-R was in the same position, most where 2.5S but people got in the showrooms because of the SE-R that they wanted but couldn't afford.

nissan could make an se-R easilly. they just DON'T WANT TO. stupid nissan...all the parts are already completed. big brake kit, HLSD, recaros, lightweight rims, more powerfull engine, rear seat delete, awd platform. it's all there waiting for them to combine everything. seriously, nissan sucks for not giving us a 1000 model limited release or something

i think that is an invalid argument, the 2.5 sedan was the most sold also, and many people even considered the altima some sort of "soccer mom" car...and nissan introduced a sporty version despite of this... since the altima coupe is a much more sportier version already... why don´t they make an SE-R thats even better?

Def a good point..They made it 'more sporty' then the sedan then they should of made a Se-R basically right away to give those people that wanted a sportier look the option. I'm sure all of you 3.5ers would have gotten an Se-R, if financially possible. I mean even though I dont like the new A/Cs new front if they do make an Se-R, trading in the 2.5 sounds very nice

the way I see it is why have a coupe that has three dif engines? if they go and throw the maxima engine in the coupe's that'll just take away from the maxima sales, so they just leave the coupe with the 3.5 we have right now, and on top of that the bank that nissan is making off of the coupes is mainly coming from the cheaper 2.5's.... if your making coats and the majority of the coats you are selling are your $50 coats and not your $200, why go and make another style of coat that will be even more expensive than $200? sorry if I lost anyone in my rambled metaphor

for all we know maybe nissan is just saving an SE-R version for a rainy day incase the sales go down

I'm in the process of doing this as we speak. Just need some wheels and my coilovers, then I'll officially debut this sucker.

SE-R is nothing more than a badge, aftermarket parts will cost you less than the markup nissan will add.

If you get an exhaust, wheels and taillights thats pretty much what the last gen altima SE-R is known for.

exactly that's why I'm trying to explain why would nissan want to make the coupes even more expensive when they get overlooked a lot of times for their already high price on the 3.5's
