I really don't like having a two door car. I drove two door cars for yearrs. But the coupe looks really darn sharp. what do you think about the coupe vs. sedan. i was only considering the sedan, but i can't get past how nice the coupe looks. I'm looking at a 2004 G35 coupe with 20k miles on it. it's got leather and the works, but no navigation system. Owner is asking $22,500. Is this a reasonable price. I appreciate the help.

I have two sedans now.If the seats were more comfy, I would have a coupe & a sedan. With that said, I'm still considering trading one of the sedans for a coupe. You need to drive both. The sedans are fast and handle great too!Get into some twisties and you will forget about the extra doors. The price is OK, but check KBB and target below private party good if you can.

I would look at your needs. Do you have kids? Is a 2 door practical? Also you can probably get a 03 sedan for about 16k. About price on a used car I would check edmunds.com.

22,500 sounds high, especially for an 2004. The new models have less problems and you should be able to get an 06 for maybe 1-2k more.

First off, buy an 05+. Less hassle with early model problems, the coupe interiors were redesigned. Easier to get VLSD. Warranty...etc.

As for the coupe versus sedan. If you go with a 1st gen sedan, it needs to be partially debadged, lowered, radiator fan-ectomy, and the mid-pipe needs to be swapped out with a coupe's.

On the 05+ sedan, you can mark the fan-ectomy off your list.

I personally love the 07/08 sedans. Other than that, it's coupe for me.

I got my 05 black on black, base model, 6mt coupe for 22k out the door with 46k miles on it. It had two small body issues, needed new tires, and rear brakes.

First of all, i approach problems a little differently and an in an unconventional manner. Based on your comment, you are struggling with both love and lust at the same time. You love the 4 - door and yet you lust after the 2 - door. These are normal emotional phases and conundrums that Nissan of North America has placed before us.

Given this scenario, using the head and not the heart (except I am knocking on wood) maybe be the best way to go. TeflonG35 made some salient points that I hear just about everywhere I go about the choice of either. They are, "Do you have kids? Is a 2 door practical? Also you can probably get a 03 sedan for about 16k."

The fact of the matter is that in the end, you are buying a used car, and the probability of a 35 K mile coupe having similar problems (mechanical and elctrical) as it is with a 30K mile Sedan, are about the same, regardless of your level of due diligence, which I still strongly encourage.

So, i would differ towards the advice of TeflonG35. Those should generally be your first line of considerations.

I struggled with a similar set of problem during the purchase of my car, between the G-35 Coupe (with rear seats) and the 350 Z (without rear seats), as both cars are basically similar in many respects. In the end, I ponied up the money to buy the coupe as I still wanted the sportiness but with the possibility of hauling 1 - 2 persons around on occassions in the back seat. I haven't regretted that decision yet.

I recently just got an 04 Black coupe 6MT. 21k miles, seller was asking $22,500. I got it for $21,500 which for a coupe with every option except navi is the best deal I've found since I started looking 2 months prior. I say thats a good price considering the low mileage, depending on color and if its auto or manual. The 6MT is more rare and a lot harder to find so they tend to be more expensive, if its an auto, its still not a bad price, but can probably find one cheaper. I've never been a fan of 4 doors, but the 4 door G isn't bad looking. You can def get a 4 door a few thousand cheaper than a coupe. It's all preference

I agree with the other members...go 05+

As far as coupe or sedan...that's your call. It comes down to your preference (looks vs. functionality)

I will tell you the price seems a little to excessive and 05+ are great, honestly my 4 door looks flippin hawt, but the 2-door as well, how often are more then 2+ in your car?

I have V36 Sedan. While I think coupe is sexy, I think my sedan is damn sexy as well. And I have a family, so it was more practical for me. I will get my Corvette when kids get older though.
