coupe or hatch

Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this but I have an 89 240 coupe and needed a parts car. I picked up a 90 hatch in slightly better condition but blown motor (not that that is gonna matter anyway) I need to know if there are any differences between the two that might change the swap or performance or is it entirly based on personal preference. If it is personal preferece then Im screwed. I cant decide they both could look so sexy.ANYWAY all help would be appreciatedAJ

The hatch is damn sexy. I have one with an RB25DET, but to answer your question the are both exactly the same except from the driver seat back. Obviously. The suspension is the same with both. Hatch wieghs a little more but from what I hear is smoother in top speeds.

coupe is sexy with the S13 front end

the coupe has bracing because of the trunk so you have some structural advantage over the hatch. Adding a proper aftermarket brace to the hatchback should even the playing field.

The coupes seem to be a lot harder to find as well, so in my opinion I would use the coupe. Not to dismiss the hatch, I love mine, but I would have used a coupe if I could have found one.

Hatches have slightly better weight distribution. Coupes are a couple pounds lighter. It's all basically which one you think looks better.

Thanks for the info guys. I have decided to go with the coupeA. because of sexy looks (coupe Power!)B. because of rarity now that you mention it. (seems like everyone has a hatch)C. because I resold the hatch ($$$)Thanks again for the helpAJ
