Not sure if this was covered before, but I did a search and couldn't find anything (Not sure if I should've search even harder like some suggests) but would a '03 coupe midpipe fit on the '04 sedan?

Absolutely. I have one on my car and love the sound. It also ways about 25-30bls less than the sedan midpipe. So you can kill two birds with one stone. Better sound and less weight, FTMFW.

yes. I have a 03 sedan and did this mod, but the 04 and 03 use the same mid-pipe.

At low RPM (around 1500) under light load, you actually get a strong bass note that can be a little annoying(seem to hit that a lot when cruising). As you gain revs, the note cleans out and sounds better, as you hit 4+ under load, you get quite a nice bark! Over all I like the mod, especially for the price ($90 shipped off ebay). I talked to a tech at stillen and he claimed 10 HP. Not sure if it did that but I wouldn't be surprised when you look at the stock sedan baffling section, that has to be super restrictive.

Anything "cat-back" will have a new mid-pipe. I believe that the OEM coupe mid-pipe is the only one that you can use by its self. The rest will come as part of a cat-back kit. Other options are Stillen (generation 1 and 2), borla and tanabe to name a few. Stillen gen 1 seems to give the most HP but will cost a solid grand. Gen 1 is fairly loud (at least when you rev it), gen 2 is quieter with close to the same power. Both are actually dual exhaust that runs through the same muffler. I haven't seen specs on the Borla or tanabe but I am GUESSING both will be a little behind the stillen.

Get the Stillen kit. Not only will you replace your mid pipe, but you'll also replace the restrictive OEM muffler.

Do it!!

when I called stillen, they said the mid-pipe upgrade was good for about 10 HP. The generation 1 stillen cat-back claims about 22 HP.

Were you pretty happy with the coupe mid-pipe addition?

yeah, can't beat it for the price. It sounds great at start up and WOT. When you are cruising and under light throttle around 1500rpm, you get a strong bass note that I am not a huge fan of though. Overall I am happy with it.
