My coupe died today. I was driving it through the snow all fine all day and when i was coming home it just shut off on the way up a hill. The lights dimmed for a min and then they all went out. Then i tried to restart and they all came back and radio and belts worked fine but the car stalls out a second after it starts. I thought it might be my alternator but then would all my lights still be bright and radio work. Or is it maybe fuel related? I tried to give it gas and it almost made it shut off quicker it didn't like it. I hope its not the trans but i doubt if because then my car would start and idle and not move but my car wont even idle just starts and shuts right back off. Fuel pump maybe? I dont have money to tow it and diagnose it i can fix it if i just find out what is wrong with it )= Anyone have any suggestions or any help i would really appreciate it, as it is stuck halfway down my street in the snow at the moment. Thanks

Maybe IACV or AAV? but that shouldnt be the case if you gave it gas. Maybe it could be your fuel pump, just turn the key to 'ON' and listen for the pump. Check all fuses relating to the problem. I have a working pump from a 93' if you need one.

How long has it been since your changed your fuel filter?I doubt that'd cause it, but always good to check.

Do what Om3ga said and check all the fuses and listen for the fuel pump.Just double check everything that is related to fuel and air, and see if your ECU is throwing a code and see if that clue leads you anywhere.

Possibly fuel or timing.

Was there any clunking sounds or any other weird noises?

Sorry bout your bad luck. I'm kinda in the same boat now too. Mine happened to be the clip/retainer that holds a rocker arm in place.

Thanks, you guys were all right. I replaced the fuel pump and the fuel filter with some spares i had laying around and it runs even better than she did before. Crappy timing as i will be late for work now. but i'm glad it wasn't something serious.

Sorry to hear that dude, you've had a string of bad luck with your silforty. Is it fixed now? Thats much more annoying than a fuel pump lol.
