Which is the "easier" mod, replacing the verts doors with coupe doors or removing the seatbelt growth with some major cutting?

I guess you need coupe door inserts either way so swapping out the doors seems easier but I know there's gotta be a "gotcha."

Thanks!

well i did the coupe/fast back door change on mine. either one you do will in volve work and money.

door's 1. you need to find a good set 2. you need to take off your front end just to get to the hinges3. on the passanger side you need to take the glove box off to get to the plug for the passanger side harness3. need to take both doors apart and change the harnness for the door because the plug are diffrent4. put the door on and aligen them ( not to hard you need to use a jack)5. put the front end back on 6. do your seat belts or harness

cutting

i dident do this because i found doors in goo shape and i'm not a fan of cutting and fabricating things on but you wont need to paint your doors and take the front end off..

good luck on which ever you pick.

i just did the coupe doors and im not very happy, you have to change the locks from your old one for the key to work which is a pain, i havent done it yet, try but i decided to do it later, and the other one is that my doors were coming out of the body just a bit, but just enught to keep me up all night, finally i moved the hinches towards in, going in the car i hope you now what i mean, but it did align, now i have to slam the door harder in order to close, i still have my doors, i might go back to the original and use cutting tools. i hope this helps, if i knew this before i know i would rather keep the stock doors.

Thanks, this is exactly the real world experience I was looking for. I thought that simply swapping doors sounded too easy. It's time to take a look at Eikon's write-up again...

I'm going to do the door swap (as soon as I have time). There should be no difference since the vert doors are based on the coupe doors and just have extra pieces welded on to make them vert doors. I find it very hard to believe that regular coupe doors won't fit just as well when fitted properly... unless the vert or the replacement doors has some damage or warping to them.

As far as the locks go, nothing is harder than removing locks from a DeLorean door... I have the scars from the stainless steel to prove it! The 240 will be no match for me...

to get the door handle off is not hard and you dont need to take the whole handle off you just need to take the key cylinder off ( not hard ).

but its all up to you.

I did the coupe door swap on one side so far and it looks decent. fenders were already off so that wasnt an issue, but had to pull the dash to hook up the harnesses. Door locks took some time switching in order to not break them, but otherwise wasnt too bad. I think on the other side I'm gonna try the cutting method though.
