Has anyone scratched the cheap, plastic console? If so, how did you fix it? Dealer wants $400 to replace it...this is just for the plastic piece that goes up to radio and back to arm rest (mine is auto).

Also, has anyone come out with an aftermarket replacement for the console....pref brushed aluminum?

Thanks in advance for all responses - Jim W.

I'd buy the carbon fiber adhesive sheet... Get the thick stuff, and it should turn out nice.

Do you have the coupe or the sedan? I believe that they have different center console's. I'm not sure how you could easily repair the scratch on the coupe console. If it is on the sedan version, you may try a a little sand paper and then a good buffing agent. But, I would be very careful doing that. I guess it all really depends on how deep the scratch is.

I had a scratch on my titanium door pull and the dealer replaced it, no questions asked. Just tell them that warranty is covering others because the manufacture knows they put cheap interiors in the G's. I have the black console but I had the marble woodgrain put in by the dealer. I love it. There are sites that sell the woodgrain kits. They are all cut out to fit exactly.

I think its worth it to try to get it covered by warrantee. Or you can wait for the 2005 model. I read somewhere that Infiniti is planning an interior upgrade for that model year.

After getting my door pull and rocker panel replaced under warrantee I had them covered with clear bra because they were still as vulnerable as before. Glad I don't have the titanium console.
