Couldn't find answer. Will other forms of KA24DE work in S-chassis?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

I couldn't really find any threads covering this topic so if someone knows of the thread, instead of bashing me for not searching please post link to thread.

I know from other forums a FWD KA24DE is not going to work in a 240sx. I was searching a junkyard database and saw a couple xterras and frontiers with low mileage KA24DEs. Would the long block from these vechicles work so long as the 240 accessories, brackets, manifolds and sensors were used? Don't these models have some kind of variable valve timing? If so can the 240sx DE head just be swapped onto that short block?

Thanks

for the price...id say just get ur hands on a used KA from another 240 for cheap

as far as xterras and frontiers go...the only thing i knoe is that the frontier KA valve cover fits a KA from s14 (currently on my car)) lol

dont worry about it, find a 240 motor like dalaz said. enough work would go into it that it wouldnt be practical to do if you are just trying to get something running.

if yuo are just going to mess around with it, search the archived threads because i know the info is out there.

Yeah, don't you dare make a FWD 240SX! The current new-vehicle market has enough FWD vehicles. The number one reason I drive a 240 is because it's RWD!!
