What if ?

Q45a + 5 Speed + Twin Turbo + Roll Gage (LOL Active Q Roll cage ) and you would want to remove a LOT of weight... Then do you think you would have a good " Active Q Drift car"?

I think the Active System is Ideal for Drifts and with more off the line??

No reason you couldn't.

I have had a few locals BEG me to drift the Q as it sits.

Eibachs, Tokicos, 20mm rear bar, FSTB and JWT makes for a tail-happy but balanced RWD car (which is 90% of what you need).

Greg you know how my Q drifts

As long as you have an active rear sway bar to tighten up the rear you have a decent drifter. Just keep the shifter in 1st because it gets really annoying when the transmission shifts as your trying to hold the throttle out......

You know I think that would be kinda weird. THe Q is really predictable even when it is flying all around, and I think having the active try and help would make things kind of vague and weird...?

Why would anyone want to? Lots more fun to go quickly in control than to have showy slow oversteering car.

Drifting is to racing like synchronized swimming is to competetive swimming.

It's a show, not a sport. Best done by those whose first priority is hairdos and makeup.

Would a more Level car hold a better drift?

I don't believe it would, but then again, it's probably one of those things you have to "feel out" to comprehend.

Few here have driven an active suspension car.

Wes, I *do* know... So does most of Louisville.

To get the "level" car that you speak of you would normally change to some stiffer springs. Add a roll bar and a descent set of shocks, and a better first gear and you're set. Oh yeah, and loose 1k LBS

PMQ, you missed the whole point of the thread.

He asked about an ACTIVE car with tt and a 5speed. Already has a 20mm roll bar, the ACT-SUS car "auto-levels", no need for traditional "shocks" and 1st gear is fine in the assumed trans. No need to drop weight if you're pushing 400+ hp.

Always good to loose weight. Heavy cars like to fish-tail, when you try to regain control the weight of the body shifts and causes it to whip on you. Not a pretty situation. But sinse we're talking about the ACtive, that might make a difference, but it's still a heavy car so the momentum would be there.

Balance. Good suspension article (wheels, tires, anti-roll bars and differential) on SCC's Project-350Z.

I was thinking about this thread as i was tearing apart the old Q today (god theres SO many screws holding that damn thing together!) and I dont think a turbo would be ideal for drifting, unless it was something small that would spool real fast..

AN eaton SC would have more instant and linear power....

As long as you kept ht eengine high in the RPMs you'd be fine with a turbo
