Hey guys so I removed all my emissions crap on my SOHC and plugged up all my vacuum hoses and holes, I finally started the car up today, everything is completely stock until I can figure this out.

My car right away jumps to about 2500rpm goes up slowly to around 3000rpm. Now at first I thought maybe I screwed something up when I was reinstalling my injectors but my wide band shows a Steady 14.7, mind you this is all at idle, and I also did re take out my injectors to double checked and everything checks out. Only other problem i can see having is a vacuum leak?

I will be building a boost leak detector here in a couple days but I was wondering if anyone has any input maybe where I can look at. Also for my fpr source and boost gauge source im using the nipple that stick out at the back of the upper plenum. Im also thinking that I might have set up my throttle cables wrong too so I was wondering if I removed the throttle cables for now would that mimic stock settings?

Thank you.

At this point, do the boost leak tester and connect it to you intake pipe. Then you'll know for sure where the leaks are.

Mine did that too at first...could even be an exhaust leak because mine stays at like 1600. You checked your iacv screw??Drive a bit and then once it's warm see what it idles at..... maybe is just because it's cold...

LOL, I'm gonna laugh if your throttle cables are pulling the throttle open at idle. Pull off the intake pipe and see if the TB is closed...if it is, then you're problem isn't the cables or TB rigging.

Check the IACV for sure...

Wait an exhaust leak you said, Now I wonder all I have on my car right now is just the stock header with the down pipe attached do you think that might be causing too much free flow and thats why I idle so high? also my gas pedal is really touchy I can barely touch it and the car goes nuts heh.

to check for vacuum leak you just need a can of carb cleaner you spray it around the intake and if the car tries to shut off youhave a leak also vacuum leak will not cause the car to idle up but to idle down ans shake and want to shut off running lean. good luck but check your iacv

vacuum leaks doesn't really have a steady idle when it affects the idle in the first place. Usually a breathing action from 1000-2000 is common. But I've had a similiar thing happen to me, based on your descrption, but it only happens when I have the wrong settings on my SAFC when choosing the MAF. What vacuum does your boost gauge read?

An exhaust leak should not be causing any sort of idle issues.

hmmm Ok well I checked all my SAFC voltages everything is set to stock setting too on the SAFC the car is put back into stock as of right now except of course of all the Emissions stuff removed.

I did how ever check those voltages with the car just on acc and not turned on. So today after work Im going to re check all my volatages again with the car on and engine running.

The voltages I got on the safc were

1in = .7v2in = .01vThrtl = .9v

Im going to also try pinching the vacume line for the IACV cause I have the strangest feeling that it's my IACV causing the problems. Now even though my SAFC shows 0% thrtl is being pushed in, I will however disconnect my throttle cabals cause when I trun the car on, a freaking flea could fart on the gas pedal and the thing goes crazy. I will let you guys know tonight.

I really do hope it's not the cabals otherwise Im going to be getting some pretty flowers in my posts lol.

ahhhh really HAHAHA Oh boy I swear Part of me hopes that thats the problem and its such an easy fix and part of me is like damn dude if thats what caused your problems you are tard LOL. Well I won't know till later tonight when I get off work but I feel like such a tard. I jsut did some more reasearch and I found out that unless the SAFC reads more then 1v of thrtl it wont show any percetages on the monitor deisplay, and the coltage is pretty much right below 1v lol Oh man this is so funny.

If any one maybe could confirm thier SAFC throttle voltage reading with just the ACC on not the engine running I would appriciated it.

Thanks.

Let me say this. For everyone that has idle issues of idling too high and you have removed you throttle cabals in the past check your voltages. If you have more then .45v your tps it will and I repeat it will raise the idle. The TPS sensors on these cars are that sensitive. So let me say once again. If your TPS is receiving more then .45v you will get high idle no matter how much you play with the IACV screw. With that said I officially win the KA Darwin award for this month LOL.

Well then you should start looking in other places cause I did a lot of research and I highly doubt that no exhaust is your problem heh.
