It sure could as well as your MAF sensor so check your air filters and MAF sensor

They could, but there could be a host of other things wrong. Have you done an ECU diagnosis yet?

um...not likely, black smoke implies severe rich condition, so either your dumping fuel or you have coils that aren't firing
