I just got back from an eight month deployment and tried to start my car and all I got was a single click when I turned the key, I knew I was having battery issues after I left because my girlfriend told me she couldn't get it started but it would crank. Then while I was gone we moved into another house had the tow company come to tow the car the decided to try and jump it to get it started and apparently since then all I get when turning the key is a single click. I already replaced the battery and that didnt change anything. I'm thinking maybe a bad relay or solenoid. Any ideas? Oh and sorry for no intro. I've been on this site for years but had to create a new user name for a number of reasons. And the car is a 93 240sx convert able with an rb25 s2.

Any help is appreciated.

Check all of the battery cables and connections? Starter ok? Have a clutch switch or a NSS that could be causing issues?

Take a hammer and tap on the starter while she tries to turn it over (dont hit the batter cable with it).

If the hammer trick works, take the starter off and tear it down. Mine was doing this exact same thing until I cleaned it up. I couldn't believe how much carbon had built up in it. There was a huge pile of corrosion and carbon on my work bench by the time it was cleaned up. It hasn't missed a beat since then.
