As I was shopping around the 4 Infiniti Dealers in AZ for the best 30K service charge, I was a little shocked at one dealer charging $935 for the Premium service as outlined exactly on the infiniti website.

Now I know these are luxury cars but come one, really does this need to be priced out so darn high? I'd love to know what the exact same service costs on the Maxima at the Nissan dealer

I am almost 99% certain this dealer charges $15 for their loaners too.

I know a lot of you do your own service but has anyone taken their ride to the Nissan dealer and ended up paying 50% less or something considerably less?

I had the 30K premium service done and I paid about $800, which included changing of the three transmission / differential fluids. I was alright with it though as I bought the car used and I wanted them to thoroughly go through it. I was able to get them to replace the worn steering wheel (I have the wheat interior and it was peeling a little) and my dash panel with all of the nav/a/c and radio buttons as one button was stuck. they also poured through the rest of the car for me looking for probles and found none...which made me feel good about my purchase.

Ok, thats just beyond outrageous. I could never be a service manager and say that with a straight face and then justify the cost.

I hope there was sometime far beyond the premium package they were adding on. You should get a tire rotate and new brakes for that

Whew!! I had a 40k service done @ Kirkland (one of the Seattle area dealers) and asked them to do just what was necessary. I got out of there for $535 US. They did a fine job, didn't charge for the loaner and had great homemade cookies-and treated me like a guest-not just another customer.

I guess I coulda' asked for the "premium" service, but then what kinda' foolish sob do you think I am?

If you are playing the Donald Trump role, then what are you doing w/an Infiniti?

It really depends what you want. If you want transmission flush, brake flush and all the good stuff then certainly close to 1000 is same where ever u will go.

I checked with NISSAN and they were also charging me close to this. That included transmission flush, brake flush, differential, PS flush etc.transmission flush alone cost more than 250. regular drain and refill is cheap, but it is good to do these things at 30K. You will find lot more post if you search NICO.

That all depends on which state you live in. I had mine doen and they wanted to charge $635.00 for everything at Gunn Infiniti in San Antonio. You should choose the items that you want/need to have performed. The oil change alone is $69.00 w/Synthetic oil.

Gunn doesn't charge for the loaner cars either, and they have fresh doughnuts and starbucks coffee.

I would always check for pricing. Some places like San Antonio only have ONE Infiniti dealer..

My 2 cents.

After paring down the list, I think I got out around 700 at Infiniti Fife for all the important things that have been outlined on this board. And they even did the seat base TSB without asking. (The tech noticed the seat rocking when he got in...I hadn't even noticed it) Either way, without much competition, I guess they feel that they can set prices high

OK, OK, Kirkland Infiniti in Seattle has fresh baked choc chip cookies hot from their own oven, an espresso bar, Italian sodas w/all kinds of flavors and a glass fronted refer w/all kinds of cold drinks; all per gratis (well, you do pay and pay in the end...). And all their floor people are dressed smartly; looking like high end attorneys.

Now Top that!!

The nearest Nissan dealership and infiniti dealership here charge the same for a service. If you want cheaper independent is the way to go, only real reason it costs soo much is because your paying a "DEALERSHIP" premium when a trusted mechanic can do the same work. This is exactly the same reason i don't take any of my cars to the dealership unless it's a warranty issue problem.

It is the owner's responsibility to establish exactly which services are included on any service package. For instance, most ATF "service" is a simple drain and refill leaving 60% of the old ATF in the transmission, not a complete mechanical ATF exchange with pan drop and interior filter screen, O ring, pan clean, new gasket and onetime use bolts replaced.

When I bought one of my Q45 several years ago, I asked the dealer if they drained and refilled the differential fluid at the 30K interval. The service writer said, "We inspect the fluid and if it is OK, we don't replace it." To which I said, "If it is bad, isn't it a little too late?" To which he had nothing to say.

Infiniti only requires minimum procedures at specified service interval, just enough to get car off warranty and on to your dime when the big expensive items fail. If you are keeping the car past warranty, one needs to consider being a little more agressive on preventative maintenance.
