Been looking at the Versa and the Fit, have driven in a Fit but not a Versa because I couldn't find a dealer who had one in stock. Finally called a few dealers to put my name on a rerserve list and one of the dealers got 6 this morning!!! All of them were the S model and automatic which was a bummer but I could at least test drive it. I loved itand he looked around and there were only 3 SL's in the 6-speed in Florida. One of which was the blue onyx which I wanted with the conveinience package (score). Put down $500 and he'll make the call in the morning and if it's mine they will send out a driver for it and could possibly be ready for pick up tomorrow night.

I will of course be loaded up with pictures and will definitely be taking it for a joy ride up and down A1A along thee ocean!

So it appears the supply is getting lot better. Can't wait to be a Versa owner!

I did a search and there are three in the state of Oklahoma: one AT, one manual and once CVT.

I had gone to 2 different Nissan dealers here in Vancouver. Was told by both that there were no black SL's with CVT anywhere. I plunked 500 down for a factory order and was told I'd have to wait til mid Dec at the earliest. While sitting at work Monday I decided to do an online search and found exactly what I was looking for at another dealer in Vancouver. It seems that this car is so hot that dealers wont even tell other dealers that they have one when a customer is looking. I went and bought mine on Tuesday and got my original deposit back. I'm now the proud owner of a Black Versa SL with CVT and Technology Package. Nice. Once you go black you'll never go back.

http://www.nissanusa.com

Search for a dealer and then you can view their inventory from there.

Waiting to hear from my dealer still, the other dealership wanted a SL to trade for the one I'm getting, which of course my dealer does not have so they're trying to work things out.

Sweet, My 100th posting. Anyway, I know about the Nissan site. I was wondering if you guys were searching something like a national database. When I was at my dealer and he was doing a search, I had a peak at this screen it he wasn't looking at the Nissan website but some other site. It didn't look like a dealer restricted site either. I thought this is what everyone else was using.

No, but I'm glad someone else said it for a change. I feel like a broken record telling people to search the Nissan site.

My dealer did a search using whatever system they use and came up with nothing. Even after I told them the other dealer had one they did a search and told me there was nothing on the system. When I called the other dealer back to cofirm they had one the salesman was standing right beside it. The moral of the story.....don't wait for your dealer to find one for you...find it yourself.

Well, no luck!

The other dealership wouldn't cooperate with my dealership and make a trade. My dealership called Nissan USA to discuss the matter and Monday a Nissan rep will hopefully find a 6-Speed Blue Onyx SL with the conveinience package and get it on the first truck to my dealership for the lack of cooperation from the other dealership.

I've got my fingers crossed, I reallllllly wanted to be driving my Versa tonight!

Oh well, I've got time to build some good mp3 cd's now....

I think it was mentioned on another forum that dealers only list on their system what they're willing to sell/trade to another dealer. With Versa being so hot, it seems most dealers have no need to send their Versas to another dealer to get them sold. But they do want them listed on the public website so you and I can go buy from them directly, so it's worth the extra effort.

Indeed. I've said it before, I'll say it again: I made the effort and drove to the dealership that had my car. There were 2 other dealerships closer I could have dealt with, but I'm 110% glad that I did the legwork myself.

Edit: I suppose the moral of THIS story is, if the other dealership has the car you want, don't bother waiting for Nissan Consumer Affairs because you may still end up having to drive there to buy it anyway. Just go and get the car.

The car in question was 300+ miles away, almost in another state. I am letting my local dealer do the work, I don't have the time to be able to drive the 300 miles to make the purchase.

If it was a hour or so away I would hop over there first thing in the morning!

300 miles... yeah, I can see that as a problem.

Maybe they could have driven the Versa and met you halfway. Then you could cut a deal cuz the car had 150 miles on it.

The milage wasn't the problem.

The dealership with the 6-Speed SL wanted to trade my dealer for another SL but my dealership didn't have one. If they had something else to trade or would have just given it to my dealership they would have sent a chase car to the dealership 300 miles away and driven it straight back with no hesitation. So me driving 150 miles wouldn't have done a thing when my dealership has people who do that for a living .

Will see Monday what the deal is!

Any chance you could tell me exactly which dealer you got your SL from? I'm in Vancouver as well.

Ha. That's exactly what I'm looking for... with CVT, no tech package.

I'll start making calls tomorrow. Thanks marleyfan.

JPack, do yourself a favor and go for the tech package. The upgraded sound system sounds way better and the bluetooth is awesome. Having the controls on the steering wheel is very convenient too. Hope you get your car.

Man, the nissanusa site brings back bad memories. I used it when I purchased my V back in July to see if it came into the dealership's inventory. The day that it came in, I had checked the inventory and they kept taking my car off of it and putting it back on. So I called up and they said that it definately was not in yet. Later, as I was just about to go to work, I get a call from my dealer telling me that it was in and that they overlooked it. So I called in to work telling them that something came up and I would be late.

I'm sure they weren't suspicious of my brand new car when I came rolling in late.

Oh yeah, and somebody stole my floormats within hours of it coming in.

Looks like no luck. Depsite a few SL's being in the state of Florida, my dealer wasn't able to get any of them. Still waiting to hear the final word from the dealer to see what their future inventory looks like.

I've been a little disapointed thus far with Nissan. They were great when I was at the dealership but they've been leaving me in the dark over the phone. Was told this morning around 9 they could get back to me in about a hour. I finally called back at 11:30 and was told a Blue Onyx would not be able to be obtained but there was a Red Alert with black interior so I said I would go for that one and he said he was going to make the call and get back to me. 3:30pm came along and I called and he said he was waiting for his manager so I cut him so slack; he said he would call soon. 5:30 came along and still no word so I left a voicemail. I finally call and talk to a manager at 6:30 and he gives me more information than the dealer I was working with gave me all day and said my dealer should call me soon.

I really need a SL to come in soon, my car is starting to go and I need to get it worn in to drive up to NY come December! Comeon Nissan, pull through!!!!

Unfortunately, no. I called all of them except for dealers in Abbotsford and beyond. None of them had a Berry SL with CVT. They're saying it'll be a November order with delivery in December/January. Well, I've placed my $500 down and am waiting...
