could it be the starter?

well,i washed my engine bay a day or two ago and today, i connected the battery and tried to start the car but nothing.i went to advanced auto and got the battery fully charged and came home to start it again and one click and all power goes out.

the odd thing is.. (though im pretty sure its the starter), when i try to start the car, all power goes out and then, there is no power at all, even at acc. mode. BUT, i can get the power back by reconnecting the battery lines.. (taking them off and putting it back on)what could that be?^is that how the starter works? once and no power until you disconnect the battery?.i'm also changing out my ps and seems like it'll be maybe end of next week until i get everything (bushings, new tierod end) right and get her back on the road.. i shouldnt start the car on two jackstands, should i?

problem fixed..it was just the loose battery connections!
