You don't tighten your lug nuts. Nice!

Great story. I'd love to see how you change your oil too.

This happened to me when I used to own a 95' Nissan Ext. cab 4x4 truck. I took it to Allied Tire when I was living in Florida to get a new set of BF Goodrich TA All Terrain tires.

Now Allied Tire used to have a paper insert inside every work order sleeve that read, "STOP! Check Lug Nuts." I leave from there and go home....Fine, and then the next day I'm on my way to work and I get up to about 60mph and the front starts to jump like you spoke of and I slowed down slowly and pulled to the side of the road into the grass and all I had left was one lug stud! No lug nuts or lug studs except for one!!! I had to have the truck towed and I and my Dad installed new lug studs and nuts and I took it back to Allied and raised complete Hell in front of all the customers waiting on there cars to be done in the hands of Allied. They installed one lug stud on another hub for free but would not give me any money for anything else. I never went back and told everyone about it and that Allied went out of business about a year later. They got what they deserved!

It could have been very bad dude and you're lucky that you found it in time. Always check lug nuts at least once a month.

I check pretty much every other time I take mine out for a spin. The wheels come off every 200-300 miles, though, for basic maintenance and inspection.

On a track day, I check 5-6 times.
