So this is always in the back of my mind and i would bet it is in the back of other vert owners mind... if you roll your vert the window liner and what not enough to save you or are you already pretty much dead?? jw

i've thought about it too. i just think of the extreme angle the windsheild pillars are mounted. 3400 pounds is more than enough to bend them flat. thats why drifters talk about installing roll cages. also lowering your car will decrease the chances of you rolling because the center of gravity is closer to the ground. i've been keeping my eyes open for roll bars like what the PT cruiser verts have, and the old cutlass convertables. no luck.

yeah its kinda scary.. i have been looking for a good role cage as well. i found one but its not the pretty thing. makes it look to much like a track car for my likings but i really would fell better if i had some kind of re-enforcement.

agreed.

when we got hit by a deer last fall (i can't find the thread anymore) it did a number on the windshield hoop (as i call it). here are some pictures:

it's hard to see how much the a-pillars are beant, but i assure you that they are a 2-3" down on the driver side and about 4-8" down on the passnenger side. i assume the deer was probably 100# and we were doing about 40mph. 3400# at a speed that would get you upside down will definitely put some bends in your a-pillars.

ha. anytime you wake up is a good opportunity. you never know when you'll be taking your last breath.
