um, no, only RX-7 engines are rotarys. I supose you could count the Cosmo as well. Only Mazda has a production line rotary engine. The SR20DET and the CA18DET are both piston engines.

there have been rotary engines in several cars besides the RX-7, some not even mazda. GM and mercades were the first after the war to buy the rights to use a rotary, there was even a 4 rotor vette, but neither company could get them running right due to the intrecacy of the timing of the engine. mazda however solved this and the apex seal problem and produced the 10a in the 1st production vehicle in 65 which was the cosmo. the rx-3, rx-4, rx-5 (cosmo) all have rotary engines, there was even a mazda repu which used a 12a in a pickup truck

[/quote] thats not true either.... the gazelles and [edit * S12's] came in limited #'s in japan with nissan's own experimental rotary back in the 80's. the engine was very similar to mazda's 12A, however nissan scrapped the idea.

While I will concur the RX-7 point, I should have put RX series but I did still mention the Cosmo, that is also arguable that the only modern engine would be the RX-7 and Cosmo. Also, your further points confirm my statement that Mazda had the only production line. Others experimented, Mazda was the only one with a full production vehicle. But we're both splitting hairs. : )

I have been told by many people that the SR was a rotary. I swear i read it somewhere, but anyhow. The guy i bought my car from said it was a rotary and that's why he wanted to put one (SR) in the car b4 i bought it. Thus leaving me under the impression that it was a rotary. Why would i even ask the question if i knew for sure? Every one who said im an idiot can eat a ****. :D I come hear to learn more about my car not to be harrased by people who don't know the situation. If you want to be ***holes go to "off-topic.net" and flame and do stupid ****.

Thanks to all those who actually help, or use constructive criticismn. Anyone who replies..." you should kill youself " is useless and their comments are worthless.

Yo goodbar, that is one dirty engine bay. I think it's the dirtiest 13BT I've ever seen! But I know how to fix that without even cleaning it......Bolt on a T88 to the side of the motor, and people's eyes will get drawn to that instead of the dirt :)

P.S. I'm just jokin' wit ya
