Hey Everyone,

I have no clue if anyone has looked into this mod or not. But i would like to know the difference if any between the Cosworth Twin Plenum Intake Manifold against the MREV2 Manifold? Does anyone know on this or even from the 350 and G35 guys. This shows it will fit our cars. Obviously trying to get quality products on my car that will also give my as much performance gains as I can.

If anyone knows or can get information for me would like to hear back from you.

For about half the price of the Cosworth you can can have the MREV2 and a plenum spacer from Motordyne. You'll also see better results. :yesnod

You're going to get the best results from a plenum spacer. The Cosworth looks amazing but won't give you big gains unless you do headwork + cams, or boost it. Also I mentioned this in another thread but there are two versions of the VQ35DE. The non revup (03-04 manuals and ALL automatics) and the revup (all 05+ manuals). The MREV is merely a modified lower plenum from the non revup VQ35DE and only helps the revup version. Its pretty much the same part that came stock on your car so it isn't going to do anything (maybe 2hp max, tuned.) for any M35.

For best bang for your buck mods I would recommend a plenum spacer, new plugs (NGK LFR6AIX-11), HFC and an Uprev reflash/tune.

You can do all of that for less than the cosworth manifold :D

I left the other thread because I was tired of the argument, but you didnt answer my question there and you still havent answered it anywhere I have seen.
If you keep saying the MREV2 does at best only 2hp with a tune, then where is your proof? I posted my proof showing there are gains and all I hear from you is talk with no evidence. So please stop going into every thread with your "info" unless you can also back up your claims with results on a dyno.

And you keep insisting that there aren't two versions of the vq35de... You never even responded to my posts.

[Edit by mod: Hey, guys. We prefer not have links pointing to other competing forums - if your post there is of value, please post it up here in a thread instead. Thanks for understanding ... ]

Tony from motordyne chimes in about halfway down and includes a dyno comparison that they made, keep in mind its their promotional dyno comparison so you can assume that it was done under the best possible circumstances to sell their product..

I stand by my previous statement that you'll get around 2 whp above just a spacer. Motordyne's own materials show a maximum gain of what, 4whp?? Call any shop that is experienced with VQ's and ask them what they think. For $485 plus shipping I don't think its worth it. WAY better ways to spend that money. I'm not just rehashing what I heard on the internet somewhere, I have ran these cars on the dyno with every conceivable combination of mods, I know what makes power and what doesn't.

lol? No, I do not keep insisting that. I said that one time for which I was corrected, by you. Dont know what your going on about with this^^^
I stopped responding in the other thread because as I said I was waiting for you to post some sort of proof for your words instead of just trying to start arguments with me.

Thanks for finally getting a link out. Odd that it seems to contradict the couple pictures I posted (and many other users dyno pics) of their results. If one of the people from Motordyne is saying that it doesnt benefit by very much then I will go with what he says and maybe the other users have some different thing in addition that is helping to show gains from that.

I see you changed your wording though. Before the question was whether such a mod gives good HP, to which you responded that it does not and the mod will only give 2HP at most. Now I see you are rephrasing to say the mod does give an increase, but only 2HP more than you would get from just running a spacer? At least thats how it looks like you are wording your answer now. SO in a way what I was saying goes in line with what you just said so I really dont see why we are even arguing trying to prove the same thing.

So the final verdict is, just run a spacer but if you have an extra $500 you want to spend gaining maybe 2-5 hp, then go for it.
