Hey Nico Club, sup? X]

Well I've been meaning to post this for awhile but haven't had the chance since moving from Houston and now living in Dallas again, been trying to re-adjust but everythings good.

Just got back from the car wash and finally got the energy (and remembered) to take photos of some things I've been stumped on. Pulled out the cell phone and snapped some photos. I have a few cosmetic questions

My first one is about these side middle panels of the car. I know they pop in place and get damaged from sliding up against it from entering the car (my brother keeps popping the passenger side one off when he enters v.v) and it seems like besides being popped in, it's glued also. I was wondering do they sell a type of car glue for these type of things at a Pep Boys or O'Riley (really any place)? I don't really want to use anything like super glue unless that's what's suggested. The drivers side one usually comes off while I'm turning to the left (sharp turns in my case) and usually that's the only time.

Also where the gear changer is that part is already off. Underneath it seems like it was glued with some orange, smooth, stretchy type adhesive but I can't really tell what it is

These last two things aren't really bothering me as much as interior stuff but figure I should mention it before it gets any worse. It seems like the top layer on my paint is chipping off little by litte on the side front driver panel of the car and I'm not exactly sure what to do about it. Washing my car today I saw 2 really small rust spots looking like it's gone through the 2nd layer now too. The front bumper has the same thing going on and not really sure what could be done about it

Besides those two areas, the cars paint shines and glistens like crazy (surprised seeing the car is 15 years old.)

This last thing also isn't bothering me too much. I have a lot of wind noise driving on the highway and it's because all 4 doors either don't have stripping or are peeling off. Do they sell those in car stores or would I have to go to somebody to get it weather stripped?

Thanks in advance! Hopefully I can get pointed in the direction to some glue, lol

Edit: One last small question lol, while poking around in the trunk, I noticed my trunk light dome has no light bulb... What kind should I look for? Totally new at owning a car :S

as for the first thing, ive got the same issue, best thing to do is to go to a junkyard, and see if theres a j30 in good condition, those parts that hold that panel up are small, most places would probably sell those for like a couple bux or something... the second thing, that peice shouldnt have to be glued on, there should be some hooks towards the front of it, those just go under the wood panel that covers the radio area, then it should snap down in place, once again, small peice that should be pretty cheap at a salvage yard. as far as the paint, either leave it or just get the car painted... theres really nothing that i know of that u can do to "fix" that... thats just regular wear and tear, mainly from sun exposure. as for the weather stripping, ive heard that will have to be custom done, nothing available in the stores, as far as i know. and for the trunk light, 158. a good site for all your lighting needs for stock lights is http://www.sylvania.com/Consum...s.htm

good luck, i was in ur place about 2.5 years ago... this is a good forum to learn alot from.. how u liking the J30??

For the rust spots, 3M makes a product called rust convertor, it pentrates quite well into rust (especially the rust up here caused by winter salt). I recommend going to a dollar store and picking up some fine art brushs to use to apply the rust convertor. It dries black, so if you have a black coloured car you won't be able to see it, especially after a nice hand waxing.

If the rust is mostly surface, I would recommend using a sanding pen and taking it off and then applying the product.

where is a junk around here anyway? my dad claims to have found an Infiniti one but i forgot which city in DFW he mentioned... i really dont mind just glueing the thing back. don't really want to spend extra money on a another panel since the one i havent isnt too bad, just falls off, lol
