BOWLING GREEN, Ky -- The National Corvette Museum will offer a $1.00 special admission to all military personnel, firefighters, police officers and their immediate families for the month of November, according to museum spokesperson Bobbie Jo Lee.
Designated Military Appreciation Month, November will be marked by $1.00 admission for all branches, including active, retired and reserve members.
A military or service ID is necessary to receive the discount. Those who take advantage of the November promotion can see several new exhibits, including a 2002 'Tiger Shark" Corvette supercharged with 742 horsepower engine and a 1989 Splash Challenge Car featuring a custom paint scheme.
New to the floor also are a Reynolds Aluminum Corvette 1972 XP-895, one of a series of experimental Corvettes built to explore alternative engine placements and chassis layouts, and two complete XP-895 Corvettes built with a steel body and the second with an aluminum body created as a joint venture between GM and Reynolds Aluminum.
"In conjunction with Veterans Day, Nov. 11, this special rate is offered to show our appreciation to individuals who protect our freedom," said Wendell Strode, NCM executive director.
