They always talk smack. I get more pissed off at that big headed dill hole every time he does a review. Its like if he doesn't like a car then its crap. They put down the 350z also???

On a side note the C6 Vette is a great deal for the price no matter what country you are in.

;)

That guy is such a snob. At least the vette came through to a certain point. Can't believe it's on leaf springs though, that's really odd.

I loved the review. The car is fast. Stink fast. But it seems to be put together cheaply. And leaf springs? What the hell?

They were right when they compared the 'vette to a football lineman, rough around the edges, but it gets the job done.

If you guys watch this show regularly, I think you all would enjoy it. That "snobby guy" owns a Ford GT :)

Its a BBC show, so unless you live in the UK, you wont find it on TV.

You can, however, download episodes here using Bit Torrent: http://gear.viper007bond.com/

to be fair, the corvette has transverse composite leaf springs supporting an independent rear dual A-arm setup. it's not the old steel leaf springs like in the back of an old F150. it's quite high tech really, and they wouldn't use it if it didn't work.

you can se the springs, they are the flat black things under the drive shaft. i guess the second one is too big. whatever. you can see the spring in the first one too, it starts under the lower control arm and curves around to bolt to the top of it right by the sway bar endlink.

if that doesn't work, just go here.

Does the C6 also use the magnetic fluid in the shocks that changes thickness depending on how much magnetism they put to it?

from the website i posted

Quote »Originally from GM Press Release"]Suspension Choices. Three suspension choices allow drivers to choose the setup that best suits their driving style – Standard, Magnetic Selective Ride Control, and Z51 Performance Package. The Standard suspension is tuned for a balance of ride comfort and precise handling.

Magnetic Selective Ride Control. The optional F55 Magnetic Selective Ride Control suspension features magneto-rheological dampers able to detect road surfaces and adjust the damping rates to those surfaces almost instantly for optimal ride and body control. Magnetic Ride Control debuted on the 2003 50th Anniversary Edition Corvette, and is the world’s fastest reacting suspension, replacing mechanical valves with nearly instantaneous reactions of magneto-rheological fluid. The system has been improved for the C6, allowing drivers more differentiation in character between the system’s two settings, “Tour” and “Sport.”

Z51 Performance Package. The Z51 Performance Package brings Corvette Coupe performance very close to the same level as the widely admired Z06. The Z51 offers more aggressive dampers and springs, larger stabilizer bars, and larger, cross-drilled brake rotors for optimum track performance capability while still providing a well-controlled and comfortable ride. Extensive racetrack testing reveals that a C6 equipped with the Z51 suspension almost equals the lap time of a C5 Z06 – marking a major advance in the overall performance of a Corvette Coupe by nearly approximating the extreme performance capabilities of the vaunted Z06 at a remarkable value. Yeah I saw a demonstration on TLC of how that worked. Very cool stuff.

The good thing about a Corvette is you can get on 10-20 years oln and still get a great car. So in a few years the C6 will be a great used car.

What a dumbass. He seems to be referring to us as "the colonies". what a m.f.

I like the corvette though.. the only thing i really agree with him on is the plastic interior.. At least it's a true GM trademark.

they don't call it the "plastic fantastic" for nothing.

the C^ interior is much better than the C5. it looks a lot better at least, i don't know about the quality of materials though.
