Ok Nico family. I'm finally ready to get wheels for my 2008 M45 Sport. I've been through all the posts and talked to a couple of knucklehead tire reps from franchises im sure you've heard of. This is what i'm trying to do:

20 inch staggered wheels..its that simple....can some one please tell me the correct wheel size, tire, and offset<----------(front and rear for those) so i will have no rubbing and not have to worry about carrying passengers or cargo. everything on the car is stock...thanks!!!

you need to know how wide are the wheels.

235/35/20 with 275/30/20

front 8.5" wide, rear 10" wide off-set should be around 28 front & 39 rear.

now if you go 245/35/20 with 285/30/20

front 8.5" wide, rear 10" wide off-set should be around 30 front & 43 rear.

Slap them on with no rolling, pulling or camber.

Excellent, clear and to the point!! Thanks 06M4.5. The wheels will be:
Front 20" X 8.5"
Rear 20" X 10"

I did hear its better to go with 235 in the front rather than the 245....

I run 20"x9" +35 up front they are perfect!! 245/35/20" Hankook! 245 width since mine are 20x9"... 275/30/20" +35 rear, also dead on!! Mine are custom wheels though, for a mass produced wheel at 20"x10" +38 is more common, 20"x10.5" +42 is recommended!
You may want to put on a set of mild drop springs with after market wheels though... Just saying... Like Tien or something not to aggressive!

Front options:(20"X8.5")
5x4.5/114.3 18 mm
5x4.5/114.3 30 mm
5x4.5/114.3 38 mm

Rear options:(20"X10")
5x4.5/114.3 20 mm
5x4.5/114.3 38 mm
5x4.5/114.3 42 mm

Those are the offsets i have to work with....will it be too much space in the wheel well if i decide not to drop it??

Ok. With a front option of 20"x8.5" +30 rear do 20"x10" +38! Perfect fit!
Front may need a Lil drop with the low profile tires vs stock. 245/40/19 vs 235/35/20
Your rear may be just fine since you are the sport model M! Just go ahead and install your wheels and see how it looks for a bit then decide... Front is already a bit high with the stock wheels and tires as it is... :gotme

Note... They may recommend front 20"x8.5 +38 but I've had that fitment and they are too sunken in... +30 should sit just perfect with a 8.5" wide wheel!!
Oh one more note: I rolled with my car dropped on eibach drop springs and stock 19" and it was SICK!!! Great look for much less money... Maybe you can drop it first see how that goes then get wheels... Just giving you options! :bigthumb:

Thanks for the help Bodyguard...with the setup you recommend is that a 275 or 285 in the rear?? Thanks...

dropping it with the 19's does sound good...didn't think if that!

Unfortunately none... Not many modified M's here but there are a few... There will be a free meet/car show open to all makes at the UTI campus north side on may 19 coming up 10 am-3 pm. Unfortunately I work and won't be able to make it... Some friends with Infiniti G's will be out there and are very active in Houston! I've run into a few more modified M's and some will be attending shows soon I'll let you know what's up if interested?? Google: Tuner life 2012 tour in Houston!

20x10" +38 and +42 are both clear!! No problem with either one!! Perfect flush with 275/30/20" tire and +38 offset! I'm rolling 275/30/20" tires with 20x10" +35! Clear everything no problem!
As Far as your second post... 19" tires are too expensive stock to 20" for am upgrade in style and with the right offset you can do:
20x8.5" front 20x10" rear! I'm doing 20x9" front 20x10" rear +35 all around!

The RS-55 is a good looking wheel but you'll see your brakes alot more. If your not going for bigger brake then you need to paint the caliper.

I went for the RS-10 because I think they look better, also it's has a machine finish with silver painted window and the added stainless steel trim really set it off. The RS-10 has lots of details.

Most people that see the car in person think that they are 3pc wheels.

+2 on going with 20's

235/35 30et 20x8.5 front with 275/30 42et 20x10 rear if you don't want any problems at all (plug & play). :)

You should try your best to look at wheels in person before you buy them.

Some times they look good on the wall in pics but not so good when seen in person.
