Well, someone else will likely get you a more educated recomendation but I know you are going to want to try to stick close to the stock height of 26" so...

245 45 17 = 25.68" <- Front?255 45 17 = 26.04" 275 40 17 = 25.66" <- Rear?285 40 17 = 25.98"

Will make a big difference if you are going to lower it as well. I'm only using 225/50's and 235/50's but my wheels are not as wide. With your offset I think it may come out quite a bit and could rub the fender.

Anyone else have some better info?

The 235 40 17 are pretty short at 24.40" I don't think I'd go that small but that's just me, I like a little more sidewall. Maybe the 235 45 17 at 25.33". My rears are a 235/50 (26.25" tall) on 8" wide rims. Stretch that a little and you can see what that'll look like. There are some other photos in my gallery showing a closeup of the rear wheel/tire.

The orginal 215/65/15 was 26" unloaded and the rolling radius was ~~25.3" with the as designed Sport XGTV sidewall stiffness [1715 pounds per inch] at 35 psi on the front and 25.4"- 25.5" on the rear.

When you increase wheel size the TIRE sidewall stiffness should increase so their will be less compression under load..........not a good idea to go below 25.0" LOADED RADIUS.

I'm running 235-45-17 in the front and 255-45-17 in the back and it works just fine!
