Working on a 2002 Altima 2.5SL, the owners manual lists a #558 bulb for the Map light, there is no such bulb made today. I took the bulb out, tried to match it {visually} at parts counters, there isn't a bulb that looks like it.

This is not a riddle, but in reality it is. Without going through a page of replies, does anyone know what I am talking about? The question is, how do I find the replacement bulb? :gotme

:welcome:

That's a puzzle. There may be a typo in the manual, and the correct size is #578. Two different sites confirm this, and the specs are listed below.

Incandescent Miniature / Automotive Light Bulb
#578 - .78 amp - 12.8 volt - T3 - Double End Caps (SF6) Base

HOWEVER, when I tried to verify this with OEM parts suppliers, I get something completely different:
Nissan Part No.: 26232-F1100

The picture of the second one is the exact way the bulb looks. Nissan Part No.: 26232-F1100
But, where do I find it> Thanks for the technical data, love that stuff!

Just found one on EBay! Thanks so much, the part # was the key to finding it!
